Coding for multifunction button

Does anyone have a idea what needs to be active for the MFB to work. Mine stopped working after I did some coding, and now want to make sure the required values are active.

Where should I look for option 249 ? In the .MAN file ?

just curious, what is a multifunction button? is it the air recirculation button on the steering wheel? can it be coded to do something else?
