TPMS sensors: How to figure out correct model?

I've got a 2011 328xi. A little while ago I swapped in some old tires/wheels from my earlier 2007 328xi. The TPMS did not work from these wheels. Now I want to get the right TPMS sensors for these wheels as I put on some new snows.

How do I figure out the right model? I gather 2011 was a transition year and it is important to figure out the production date? (how do I do that?). I don't want to have to tear apart the existing "good" wheels or dig around in the car itself if I don't have to...

Looking at part 36106856227... seem correct? Thanks.

go here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select

enter last 7 of vin and it'll pull up the correct p/n for everything since it can tell your production date.

That's quite helpful, thanks.

Unfortunately if I'm reading the search results correctly, it seems to be indicating at least two different TPMS sensors being used in those models which are "non-exchangeable retrospectively", namely:

36106856227 3' E90 LCI (07/2007 — 12/2011) (the one I originally found)
36106790054 (09/01/2009 — 06/13/2013), non-exchangeable retrospectively

also
36236781847 (07/01/2007 — 06/13/2013), Exchangeable retrospectively

Does this mean I can't know unless I dig through the car or "good wheels"?

HUF reports that the 0054 part will work, but can I trust them?

Hmmm. Looks like the first 2 parts numbers (ending in 27 and 54) are the same part. Look here: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...856227#fitment

The third one (ends in 47) is for cars up to 08/2009, look here: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...798726#fitment

Weird how both come back with real oem, usually they are spot on. Something like the first fcp link should work according to their site as they are good for E9x 328i after 09/2009 production

yeah, I noticed that HUF tends to lump the '27 and '54 together... what threw me was realoem stating that '54 is "non-exchangeable", which means "can be incompatible", no?

The non-exchangeable nomenclature is strange, it looks like to me that huf makes a sensor that covers both part numbers so it will work with either.
