A weekend afternoon in the Santa Cruz mountains
It has been a couple months since my car has last seen any track time and it's getting itchy! Besides, a friend of mine has recently purchased a new 6MT B7 A4 3.2 quattro and has been eager to take his new baby for a spin. Together with dea's TiAg m-sport 330i, the 3 of us decided to go for a ride in the near by Santa Cruz mountains for some fun.
And what fun it was! Listening to the roaring sound the 3.0L inline-6 produces at 5000+ rpm while watching the scenary flying past in blazing speed is sure to put an ear-to-ear smile on every driver's face. And all this while basking in the beautiful California weather. It is truly freude am fahren at its finest. Here are some photos I took during the drive. Enjoy!

say what?!! impounding cars.. how? And FBI?? You'd think they have better things to worry about than catching a few speeders on a remote Cali mountain. -hkj |

well they're targeting certain cars/people and i'm sure that bust was over... FBI stoped sideshows in CA and gripping on those roads I guess is illegal... and my friend's friend whos on impreza-club had his car impounded. dunno... should be okay... the last few times i went i didnt see any cops.

they are cracking down on Highway 9 nowadays. They put speed bumps on this one road leading up to the highway (pierce road). I am starting to notice more cops than before. I've gone on those roads a bunch of times before and never saw any cops until recently. A co-worker who is a member for the i-club told me that they once had a roadblock on the top and the bottom of the mountains so basically all the cars were trapped in the middle. Man I just hate cops in general.

but yeah i just wanted to add that i think m-tech rear w/ no deck spoiler looks SOO clean... member edy74's alphine white e90 w/ mtech rear apron, "black cf-look diffuser", w/o deck spoiler... wow the black/white contrast on that ride... ..it just looked so clean... lol i wonder how your ride would look w/o the deck spoiler... but then again the contrast isnt as great cause u have dark on dark diffuser and edy74 has light on dark diffuser.

How are sales of 3.2 compares to other A4s? If I recall correctly the total 325s (sedan+coupe+xi+i) outsell total 330s at about 3~4:1 ratio. Quote:
From my own experience the stock RFT grips really well. I took my car to the track a few times and it hasn't give me any problems. Obviously a lighter car such as s2000 (which is some 600lbs (!) lighter than 330i) will be able to corner faster than our car. I like the rear look with the M-sport. I think the CF diffuser is not so noticeable on the darker colored cars. I'd love to see a Mystic blue car with M-sport+CF diffuser in person. I think that color combination would totally rock! :rocks: :rocks: -hkj Last edited by hkj; 08-08-2006 at 01:45 AM.. |
