Most of us had Breakfast at Jerry's then arrived at Technik around 10:30 am. We got a tour of the place, and a look at that E90 with the mega-tires and custom trunk. The M-Aero kit and Euro headlights were installed post-purchase, and Mike did briefly mention the Stage I- Stage III conversions that will be offered soon. You can keep checking their website at: www.technikpower.com Mike can be reached at Technik at (310) 306-4060. |

Hey michael thx for all the work on dyno testing. I wasnt disappointed at all that my step put out 197 whp an around 188 pounds of torque not bad. It was another great meet as always.

All the numbers seem right, about 21-215 at the ground is around 250-260 at the crank, so those cars are all making about what they should.
Also, for note, the dyno numbers are actually corrected in a variety of ways by the dyno software, including the atmospheric conditions. |

Those numbers are fine. They should also help dispel the ridiculous magic BMW drivetrain myth. If they do seem a bit low, most of it is probably due to the heat and the nature of dyno testing - remember, an engine on a stationary dyno is not receiving nearly as much cooling OR airflow as an engine in a moving car does.

Just wanted to say thanks for letting me join the fun (even though I dont have an e90). It was nice chatting with those I met. A good friend of mine is also a member of this board (CMD), so give him hell .
The heat definetly played a factor in the results IMO. I went back to Technik on Monday for my remapped software on my e46 M3 & although the result differences are impressive, the temperature was quite cooler as well, which I am sure played a role in the increase, besides the ECU remap. Saturday 6/17/06 2:34:00 PM Run Type: RO Run Conditions: 85.61F 29.86 In-Hg Humidity 36% SAE: 1.00 Max Power: 255.12 Max Torque: 216.36 Monday 6/19/06 5:51:00 PM Run Type: RO Run Conditions: 79.68F 29.80 In-Hg Humidity 46% SAE 1.00 Max Power: 271.19 Max Torque: 222.14 (Technik ECU remap) Like many have said, the dyno run was good to just get a baseline idea of where you were vs. where you want to go. I was initially miffed at what I put down on Saturday, but I just chalked it up to lack of tuned software & the heat that day. Once again, thanks for letting me join you folks. It was great meeting you all! See you again at Technik! Kelly 2005 E46 M3 ZCP

this thread is very useful in that it creates a baseline. Both 325i and 330i have been tested, both manual, and steptronic, all without any performance modifications that I noticed.
Now, with the prospect of increasingly more performance products being released, not to mention those currently in the market, we will have something to compare them against. For me, this is the most useful aspect of these dyno results. I hope that other members , with modifications including intake and exhaust systems will get tested using the same dyno, and post their results. |
