If this car was on 88% settings then there's nothing that surprising about the different outcomes.
i bet Big Tom's car dyno over 400 rwhp & 400 rwtp whereas my car dynoed at 360s and i was running map 5-29,
btw, i checked code this mornig and got this
2DED Power management, standby current control
but dont think it's the cause of the loss.

You can only do a fair comparison of the same stage when the tuners have the same idea of what a stage is.
GIAC says that stage 1 is tuned for a car with only an exhaust. That's it.
I think that stage 2 will be for DPs, exhaust, and intake, and stage 2+ will be with intercooler.

Actually Stage 2 is for intercooler = this means they will push more boost which otherwise without will induce heatsoak straight away
Stage 2+= Dps even more boost added becauase of the free flowing exhaust that would not be able to go through with catted stock dps.
So at the end i guess we are talking the same boosting:
Stage 2: 14.5
Stage 2 plus: 15/15,5
However considering the full ACTIVE timing and Vanos control they will be able to extract more power than piggies in general .
These are all assumptions from my side of course :-)

Thanks for clarifying. I thought it was the other way around.

Honestly I am much more interested in seeing STOCK cars with tune-only being compared. I think this is especially important considering the vast majority of people buying these tunes are not going crazy with hardware upgrades (anything more than cat-back exhaust or intake).

Additionally, I would like to see a respected member of this community with zero affiliations with any of these tuner shops (i.e. probably not anybody who has posted in this thread) compare the overall feel and driveability. An ideally-tuned 335i should still feel like a BMW...just a little more punch.

Clearly "stage x" in marketing speak doesn't mean crap and the truth will come out once we get some nice boost logs.

I wish GIAC well too. Not hating on it. If it really is better, god bless. Technology does advance now and then...

My 50c bet is that GIAC won't make significantly more power than JB3, Procede or any other tune on the N54 once the boost curve looks the same and all other variables are adequately controlled.

Errr..that was a pretty good thrashing by the V3! Reminded me of a vid I once saw of a JB3 1.2 vs SSTT.
