Dyno Results

I put my car on the Mainline dyno at RealDyno Performance today to measure the power and torque output. Results were 383.5KW (514HP) and 1007.7Nm. Considering I do not have PI or 100% E85, I am very pleased with the results. It appears the old RB Turbos can still produce an acceptable amount of power and torque. Now it is time to produce some decent times at the drags.

Hey mate

Good results especially for a mainline dyno. Power delivery looks nice and smooth with great torque numbers. AFRs look tidy.

What PSI is it peaking at? Are you running JB4 with a backend flash?

Time to hit the drag strip again

Thats higher torque then vtt gcs turbos at 30+psi.

What size is mainline roller 273 or 219?

I would take 24.6% off torque no.s, it looks like torque no.s of a 273 roller.

At 23 ish psi you are making very good power and torque.
Should be quick at the1/4

My local mainline does the same thing. Weird. Both my last 2L turbo engines making 300kw - 800nm. My brother's 300kw 4L N/A V8 - 700nm. My 335i with 250kw - 1000nm. All unrealistically high torque.

Really keen to see your 1/4 times.

Did it hit 27psi near 5k rpm?

No reason you wont be low low 11s or better like delatima

Nice results

By memory you're running a cobb flash custom map by PTF also? Are you E50/E60?

that's what gearing does for you I bet I can make my stock car put down 1000Nm + (I might not have the same speed range on the x axis though)

probably a third gear pull or fourth gear isn't quite 1:1. 383kw at 6k rpm is around 600nm.

Edit: Looks like you're putting around 650Nm of torque based on power graphs - Solid result

Yes, the PTF tune appears to be working quite well looking at the power curve. The AFR is a little on the lean side but not too bad. Boost pressure is reaching 26psi. I am just running Cobb with an E60 custom tune from PTF. Nothing fancy. Hopefully, I may be at the drag strip next Wednesday night, if conditions suit.

Hi Brule. Not sure what size roller the dyno has but I will find out tomorrow. I agree with your assessment that the torque is too high. I was getting around 800NM of torque using the E30 Cobb Generic tune on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. This fits in the range if you reduce the 1007 by 24.6%. As I am getting 125mph at the strip, I believe the power is correct.

I would say your AFR is tidy. If I read your chart right its staying between 12-12.5 throughout the run which is pretty good. I know some guys are running 11s but I think that's on the rich side and I don't think you going over 13 so its safe and not lean.

Okay so its flash only tune. Looking good

I believe maybe 11.3s is achievable if I can get my 60' times down into the 1.6s as I did a 11.6s with a 1.9s 60'. I will also try a 2nd gear launch as I am loosing 0.14s on the 1st to 2nd gear change. It is interesting when I compare my previous G6E turbo power/weight ratio with my Beemer. The G6ET put out 430rwkw and weighed 1,900kg (P/W = 0.23) while the Beemer puts out 383.5rwkw and weighs 1,600kg (P/W = 0.24). The G6ET did a 11.08s @ 126mph. Yes the graph of the Manifold Pressure shows 26-27psi at around 5,000rpm.

I agree the torque number is not correct maybe due to the roller diameter as Brule has pointed out.

I have datalogs taken while doing runs at the drags which show peaks of 830Nm of torque through the gears. That is obviously at the engine not the wheels. I have a Dyno Dynamic dyno result showing 700Nm at the wheels. So your 650Nm is in the range. That is around where it should be.

Great numbers mate, car seems to be dialed in pretty well on the dyno. Just need to get it down the track quicker now! Nothing wrong with old style Rb's, as long as they dont smoke then happy days.
When i finally get around to soughting my car car out we should go for a run at willowbank, the weather is cooling right down at night now!! : )
