Yep you can see it already with Porsche and the PDK.
Manual Porsche's are going up in price due to the scarcity of them being offered less and less.
I imagine a Manual 'is' will become a sought after car as well. But the DCT does the job just fine and so happy I got it. It makes the 'is' that much more special and unique.

I love the DCT. It is the best of both worlds and shifts lighting fast. With Sport mode it has the nice blips and downshifting. I love shifting in Manual Sport mode. Actually with the tune it has chirped the tires a few times. Probably since I have been driving with one click DTC lately. Would not change it for a manual at this point no way.

Purchased from ***bargains during December of 2013. Not sure if they still sell them.

I think I may do a 'feeler' for the car in the for sale section soon to gauge interest, but the car more than likely won't be parted out. I'd prefer to sell it 'as is' for a reasonable price. If I can't get the right buyer, I'll keep it.

DCT is the reason I bought the "is". Otherwise I would have opted for a regular manual 135/335.

I do miss my manual cars though, but the amount of traffic I drive every day made driving the manual a chore 5 days out of the week.

I think I am a pretty damn good manual transmission driver and my shifts are fast as humanly possible IMO.

But don't take my word for it, try running a manual 335is against a DCT 335is off the line and see what happens, guarantee you will at least see one bus length!

There is absolutely nothing currently out there that can outshift a DCT transmission... I like both manual and DCT but it just depends on the person and what they bought the car for. For me, I opted for the DCT since it is a daily. I hated my manual from having to sit in stop and go traffic on a day to day but on the weekends and racing, it was a blast. The DCT provides the best of both worlds without having to worry about a foot clutch. The only downside I can see with the DCT is you can't really "dump the clutch" or randomly blip the throttle (say you drive by another bmw fanatic or something and you just want to rev up while you are driving, not as easy as pushing the clutch in and giving the throttle a little jab). But, nothing can match the fun the DCT can put on your face with the shifts and how it sounds, especially going through twisties. No more heel toe required.

So for me, I have a fully built drag car that I street, so I did a 6 speed manual in that. A good auto would have been better for the drag strip, but I wanted to be able to row through the gears both on and off the track.

Also, something I haven't seen mentioned too often is that with the DCT, you barely lose any boost when you shift a gear. This is what makes the 335is DCT quicker (not faster) than the 335is manual.

Speaking of boost, what would a typical value be for stock max boost pressure? When running Cobb stage1-sport mine read 14.6 psi. Is that about right? Thanks

When I installed my Cobb before having any other mods besides DCI, I would peak at 19 psi

~14 seems about average to me. 19 seems like a problem if it's any OTS Stage 1?

I forget exactly which one it was that I choose, but it was the most aggressive I could do without having to have full bolt ons. It did not stay constant at 19, just peaked.... Could have been tire spin, or a number of other things, or could really have hit 19 psi

The key was using 3M's product, a hair-dryer, and some beers.

Good job!! Looks good. Been wanting to do the same thing but not carbon wrap, I was thinking brushed black or brushed gunmetal to match the trim. I despise the chrome trim around the shifter base plate! That shit always blinds me while driving when the sun reflects from it.

Was it hard to do the knob, where the chrome trim is really thin around the knob display? Any tips?

I hated the chrome and the fact that the shifter looks like any automatic in the BMW line-up … the DCT deserves its own look!

First crack at it and it worked. I watched a few youtube videos and followed the program. A steady hand, hair dryer, and sharp knife made the process easy.

If you mess up the cost is about 5 bucks … so i just went for it!

Have you had your coil packs changed every? They seem to last about 30k miles from my experience and what I have read online. Amazon has them cheapest, $25 a piece for the OE bosch ones. Also could be a spark plug. I would change both at the same time if you have not done either or.
