HOWEVER, I know I speak for many others here when I say that I prefer the 328i and (unlike you) do not wish I had one. I just bought my 328 used from the original owner with only 47k miles on it. With relatively simple mods (3-stage manifold) I have a fun, quick, classy car that drives like a dream. One of the biggest allures of this car for me is the naturally aspirated straight-six. It is so smooth and poised (and refreshingly old-school). Compared to the 2.0 turbo in my GTI, which I just sold, this car is equally powerful but drives 100x better. If I wanted a BMW with a turbo that I could tune to 350+ hp I would've bought the F30 with the little 4-banger turbo and tuned the crap out of it Anyway, I understand that you're trying to make a hard decision, just please be respectful of those of us who like our NA engines and don't wish we had a 335. |

Thanks for sharing. I happen to have both e90 328i rwd 6mt and e90 m3 6mt and I have no interest in turbos with the e90 platform, some people just don't get it.
My 328 is a daily and I think it's a fabulous car for the money, I call It the baby m3. And if you feel superior to the 328 u should have bought the real thing in the first place, the m3 |

I don't know what they charge for a dyno tune but if you are close enough to do I'm sure it's worth it. They have great customer service so I'm sure you could send them an email for a quote.

Finally had a chance to do some WOT runs today and it feels awesome. Pulls hard all the way through 7000rpms
Definitely feel more power at WOT than it had before and it keeps pulling much stronger after 6k than on stock tune. Very satisfied overall, but definitely excited for the 3 stage IM. I have the part already just waiting til I have time to do the install and re-flash. I'll update here when I do. |

I'm trying to decide between AA and BPC, but don't want to deal with issues with emission tests. |

Headers are another great bolt on for the n52 but it's not really possible to pass emissions in CA with them unless you "know a way around it." I am planning to do the BMW performance exhaust at some point which should pass emissions fine since both cats will be intact. |

BPC is ~$700 (shipping, tune, handheld) AA is ~$650 (tune, Simon tool, shipping). AA is currently "revisiting" their tune since their old tune apparently doesn't do anything (I can't speak to that). Shortly, when Hass pitches in, he will be referring to current AA tune and will advise you to go with BPC. If you are willing to wait, I'm planning on doing dyno of BPC tune. I currently have AA (see my thread Dyno time - ) . Once AA finishes their tune for my mods, I will gladly give it a try too and post it on here as well. So, if you are willing to wait few weeks, you can have objective results. Keep in mind, my car is modded, so YMMV. |

I'm now thinking to pay a bit more and get the tool myself. That way I will be able to go between stock and tuned DME. (Is this assumption correct?) I'm happy to wait a few weeks before making a decision. Thanks! |

You're correct that you could use the BPC flash tool to re-load your stock tune file, but it's not like an instantaneous process so it would be a pain to do often and I don't know why you would need to. |
