Catless DP's

Anyone been busted out here in Socal with catless DP's, im just curious as to what they would do.

Also does anyone know any Dealers in socal that simply don't care about catless DP's, FMIC, DCI, etc.

Being that you cannot really see the dp's from the top of the engine would make it hard for a cop to notice. But if you have a really loud exhuast he could send you to the ref and he would notice for sure.

Catless DPs on the obvious side if secondary cats removed also (full catback rear exhaust): your exhaust fumes would smell "illegal" (some people do feel nauseous inhaling); the exhaust sound would be decibels louder inside/outside; your rear bumper will also have a coat of carbon; your car will perform better, but you will attract a lot more attention from cops per say;should you get a fix it ticket requiring a State of California Referee your going to have to reinstall your factory DP with catalytic converters.

My impression from my days on the wrx forums was they can impound your car for straight pipes ( naturally I did it anyway)...not sure how much of that is hearsay though

Seriously, if you cruise and drive obnoxiously (swerving, rapid acceleration/deceleration, blasting your Harmon Kardons) your local law enforcement will find a way to pull over. If your car is completely catless and “smells” the officer will have the right to get your car refereed at a state of California testing site. If the officer asks to look under the hood and you comply; hope your DCIs have a CARB sticker (ie, Injen). Of course my opinion is subjective.
