iDrive Fuel Pump Warning

2013 135is N55 here with Pure stage 2 and a custom Wedge E30 tune. I'm also running the Spool FX-150 HPFP and Fuel-It stage 2 LPFP. Recently I've been getting the Fuel Pump warning. A little triangle with the exclamation point ⚠️ pops up on the cluster and if I scroll to Check in the BC menu, the fuel pump warning pops up on the iDrive screen.

It is very intermittent. It usually only happens when fully warm and cruising at steadying speed. It will come and go every 20-60 seconds. There are zero codes stored in the DME. Logs look fine.

After some research it seems like this could be the EKP module giving up due to the stage 2 fuel pump pulling extra current. Looks like there are ways to add active cooling to the module via a 12v fan, but should do I need to replace my module first?

Is coding required when changing the module?

The EKP can be re-coded to remove the warning. Ask the FuelIt guys or Google around - I did it on mine.

You need to reprogram the EKP to increase the voltage threshold. You might also want to do this mod to the EPK module to keep it cool.

Thanks all! I was planning to add a fan and heatsinks to the module. I'll need to look at coding the module too.
