93B2 code (BST), help in the Houston or Texas area?
Anyone in the Houston or surrounding areas eager to help me replace a battery safety terminal cable, and possibly fuse box? Dealer wants $700, which is lower than expected. I haven't confirmed if the fuse box has visible damage. Cable is approx $250. I just don't have the space for seat removal, or the electrical experience.
Alternatively, If you've done it before, help with the roskinc/resistor method. I've read the fix isn't permanent and am open to feedback. Seems simple enough but thought I'd reach out in case I have a neighbor that can guide me in doing it right the first time. I also don't have the ability to clear airbag codes. Car is a 2006 330i, stock, and code first kicked in at 46,980 miles. Indie dealer cleared the code however the same dash warnings just now appeared at 47,180 (both times on the bumpiest of roads...). OC3 recall was taken care of in 2009. Last edited by chuckjl; 04-24-2019 at 11:41 PM.. Reason: clarity |

To close the loop ... either one or a combination of the following have successfully prevented the BST code from reappearing, in order completed:
- clean BST contact with electrical cleaner - replace battery (the battery was very low) - install battery hold down (battery cables may have been subject to road shocks) |
