E92 trunk switch and latch issue

I wonder if it’s hooked up? How would i check? Second when it’s cold sometimes i close my trunk but it doesn’t close. The latch seems to operate properly and i eventually get it to lock but I’m just wondering why this might be happening and how to fix.
