Need a bit of Help..TCU and AUX and USB

Hello all,

I have a new to me 2008 BMW 335XI Coupe with about 57k miles on it. I'm trying to sort out some issues that have cropped up. I have done quite a bit of searching and cant seem to find the exact symptoms I have.

What works:

Sat Radio
Navigation
FM Radio
Bluetooth works and I can pair my Galaxy S9

What Doesn't Work:

AUX/USB

Codes/Warnings:

SOS Malfunction (Popped up shortly after I got the car)

S 0112 : No Communication possible with ULF-SBX-H
00A36D : TCU Emergency Call button open circuit
00A37D : TCU Fault Emergency Speaker
00A382 TCU: Fault microphone 1

Tools at my disposal:

BMW Standard Tools (A lot of these tools seem scary to me as a noob)
ISTA D
BMW Protool
Bimmergeek cable

Given the above information and my incomplete knowledge about modules that could or should be in my vehicle in any combination I am at a loss on where exactly to begin troubleshooting. I'm aware the TCU seems to fail quite a bit and may need replacing, apparently just to satisfy my desire to not have that stupid warning light. I have found a suitable replacement module on ebay.

However, S 0112 : No Communication possible with ULF-SBX-H is where i'm confused. Is my car supposed to have that module? Is that module integrated into the TCU and has failed? I suspect perhaps the car simply is just missing the unit and should be installed given the below cables I found unused along with the jumpered MOST optic connection?

When looking at the part on a vendor site it states the following:

" For vehicles equipped with Bluetooth only, can also be used for retrofitting purposes"

Any help/guidance to a new member/owner would be greatly appreciated, I do take the time to search and try and help myself before asking for help.

Thanks,

the ulf or as we call it here the Mulf 2 hi module that does USB and Aux
if often under the TCU.

diagnostic manual ista/inpa

It might be a good idea to use Inpa to read the modules you have.
the first part of the bimmerprofs link tells you how to do this.
Under functional jobs.

If you have a working Mulf 2 Hi its all you need for bluetooth phone
usb and aux . Since nobody supports 2g anymore the TCU is now
useless. If you want to do this you will have to look up the threads
that describe how to do this.

So I received me ebay TCU....plugged in and set VIN. No more SoS error. Aux..still doesn't work. So i can only assume I'm supposed to have that other module Mulf-high?

Thanks,
