CCC with MULF2 Hi, how to wire aux

Forgive me as I have spent hours looking through the many posts on this but still not clear on a few things...

I have a 2006 E90 which has CCC Idrive:
| S609 | Navigation System Professional |
| S620 | Voice Control |
| S644 | Preparation F Mobile Phone W Bluetooth |
| S694 | Provisions For BMW 6 CD Changer |

In a quest to get aux in working, I have discovered that the previous owner has already swapped in a MULF2 HI. Bluetooth calling works. The car has the USB and Aux in port in the armrest and the USB has power - although does nothing else there is no option for USB in the Idrive menus.
The Aux in option is selectable in the Idrive entertainment menu as though it is working, but does nothing.

What I am unsure about is with Navigation professional, does the original Aux-in originally wire to the actual screen (the CCC?) and therefore has possibly not been wired to my MULF2 HI?

I am guessing the previous owner has done the MULF2 HI upgrade, but not wired in the Aux-in and USB connector. If I want to connect this, is it a case of adding wires into the blue connecter that goes to the MULF? I think this is what is required for a normal TCU to MULF2 HI upgrade, but can't find specifics as a lot of guides seem to be about the RAD2 radio not the Navigation professional. If both have aux wired to the head unit, I guess new wiring is need to the MULF...

6FL option must be programmed in and this is tricky in an 06 because that
option did not exist in 06 . So ncsexpert will not allow that to be programmed
in with out changing the car's production date to something later while
programming. Also I believe there was one or two wiring changes I believe
that where for the microphone or you can buy a harness adapter I believe.

You need a center console pod that has the USB connector and the Aux that
has wiring to the Mulf 2 Hi .
Mulf 2 Hi supports USB the regular Mulf 1 does not.

Again the option 6FL must appear in the VO or be programmed into both the Mulf
and Head Unit.

Thanks, interestingly bluetooth calling is working in this car so I am assuming the mic is wired ok into the MULF2 HI... I am wondering how far previous owner went with this, but bluetooth calling works.

My centre console pod has a USB socket and AUX socket - would this not have been an original fitment on an 06, and therefore previous owner may have already upgraded this? Maybe the 06 had the USB sockets just for power... From the TOP-Hifi circuit diagram I don't see any USB port wiring into the CCC, so I'm guessing it didn't have it originally. I probably need to remove the console and trace the wiring to see where it goes.

It's pretty confusing, but appreciate any guidance.

It's odd that the aux in option is there in the CCC, so something is looking for an analogue input, I'm just not sure where it's meant to be wired to, MULF or the headunit itself.

you can look pinout of the blue mulf2high connector on this forum topics and then look in your connector if aux wires are coming to MULF
then you have to search their other end somewhere under the driver seat or tunnel, close to USB/AUX socket

In the US the 06 did not come with a USB socket in the center console.
With Ncs expert you could read the Head Unit and Mulf 2 hi files to see
if USB is enabled.

this car already has mulf2high and usb hsd cable retrofitted, so TS can check if the AUX cable from MULF2HIGH is also laid down
