When I do it again I will also get a new drain plug. Both the drain and fill plugs have an attached seal that appears to be intended for one time use.

742 - Thanks for the info! I've been looking for a year now for LT-3 sold in a container. Up until now BMW was only selling it from the bulk container. This must be a new P/N (I checked with Tischer and they have it as a product now. I heard Russel BWM had it too) I was at Tischer in March and the parts rep at the counter sold me LT-2 stating it was the E90 MT oil. I'll return it and now get the LT-3. Thanks.

Question

Hello Eninty...

Very interested and relieved that an external or auxiliary fuel filter can be installed apart from the one that's built in the rear pump because the Fuel Quality is extremely questionable here where I live...

I read the word document about the installation procedure, but can you give more information on the parts to buy? And where to find them? Precisely the fuel filter itself...

Also, do you have any long-term review about this installation? Does it cause any sort of issues on the long-run?

Thanks in advance.

Ron from Beirut.

And by the way apart from the factory fault I think my High Pressure Pump Failure 3 days ago was due to the Dirty Fuel Quality ...

I didn't do the install. I just posted the procedure. I have no other information than what i already provided. Sorry. I suggest going to RealOEM.com and look for it.

This. For as expensive to maintain as these cars can be, I too feel the warranty should be longer/better and that purchasing CPO should cover more items in more detail.

That said, I've been fantastically satisfied with my CPO and service I've received from the SA & Tech I deal with at my local BMW dealership. More so than most other companies I ever deal with.

The only fuel filter I can found is 16117163295.
But I'm curious about the auxilary filters...

So just to let everyone know on this recently bumped thread, my car has recently passed 271,000 miles. I've run approximately 10,000 gallons of fuel through the in-tank fuel filter. My car is running almost as good as the day I bought it in May of 2006. The fuel filter is lifetime.

No need to replace the fuel filter. Most cars made in the last decade have went to non serviceable (in tank) fuel filters that never need changing. Save your money for control arms, water pumps, window regulators and coil packs. Those will need replacement eventually.

Sorry not to agree with you on this, I drive a 2010, 325i, E90 with 36,000 miles and just got my tranny fluid replaced and its been a big differnce, now it feels soft like brand new and only got the fluid replaced and not the filter. It is a 7 year old car I know the mileage is low but the fluid was dirty. By the way I used Pentosin ATF 1 great and not very expensive product.
