So I got my E92 M3 Rep Bumper, and I found some 9006 female sockets at O'Reilly's but I can't find H8 male sockets anywhere to connect my stock harness to them, only female.. So I ended up finding a set of male H8 sockets on Amazon Prime, but they say H8 H9 H11 Male Sockets and they are from iJDMToy.. Now I was gonna order them but I know sometimes those online sites are retarded and don't know what they're selling, so would I be able to use these to splice into my 9006 socket/harness to complete my DIY H8 to 9006 harness?? I'd obviously chop off the end I don't need but don't want to buy it if I can't use it..

H8 and H11 are very close.

H8 bulbs will fit in H11 housing. They might take a little effort or tweaking but they are 98% close. I'm speaking from experience with the bulbs we sell from HPB.

PS - just noticed the bulbs in my m3 rep projectors are h3 bulbs..? I emailed the company already, but it's weird because the 9006 socket I bought from the store fits perfectly onto the connector.. I guess h3 and 9006 share the same socket as well.. Lights confuse the shit out of me haha..

They replied with this just now..

"Thank you for your order.

The projector fog lights that come with this kit do take H3 bulbs. The only fog lights we carry that take 9006 bulbs are the clear (non projector) OE style fog lights, those are not that ones that come with this kit. Can you provide the part number off of the box that the fog lights came in so we can cross reference it. We look forward to hearing from you."

So I guess maybe I just assumed they were all 9006 bulbs on m3 reps, but it appears this isn't the case..

Yeah my grandpa used to always tell me the meaning of "assume" when I was a kid, I suppose that plays a role here as well..

Suppose I'll just stick with the H3's and try and source some yellow ones.. Since my lights are projectors, a 55w H3 should have no heating issues right..?

with a H8 and H11, the 3 tabs that hold them in place are just slightly different. You could easily modify it to fit though.

I believe most H3 are 55W. I'd genuinely recommend contact High Performance Bulbs if you need something, they'll at least steer you in the right direction if they don't have what you need.

So, in my case, with the M3 rep coming with H3 projector fogs, I had a chance to turn them on last night and they are just about as bright and equal in color to the stock angel eye bulbs on my e92.. If i were to seek out either yellow or bright white bulbs, do you have any recommendations??

Yeah I figured out the 9006 fogs for m3 reps are the halogen ones, I got the projectors which are h3.. They're not bright at all, but they match the oem Angel eyes perfect. Still wanna upgrade them haha..
