No start when hot, next steps

I have an 06 325i with 3IM and Bimmerlabs tune. This summer I took my head off to replace valve stem seals to fix excess oil burn. Since then, I have a no start issue when the engine gets heat soaked... trying to start more than 30min but less than 2hrs after last drive. Nothing happens when I push the button. I've replaced the starter and ground strap, battery tests good, no errors through BimmerGeeks ProTool. Any ideas on how to fix?

Interested in this as I have a slow crank (not to be confused with long crank) when the engine is hot, it always manages to fire up but I suspect our symptoms are related.

the starters are known to wear out (they're small and light). I'd begin there.

Both the OP and I have already swapped our starters. I can't speak what OP did but I went with a re-manufactured Bosch unit. Could it be an issue with the parts?

I went with a refurbished Bosch unit from FCP Euro.

Follow up, my car is working again. My son accidentally stepped on the wiring to the starter while helping with the valve seals. When the engine got hot, the wire relaxed and grounded out on the block. BMW charged $800 to replace the loom.
