Regardless, if NO WHERE on that contract does it say anything about the # of tires, it is complete BS. Tell them you will see them in court... I'm sure that will change their tune and you will have new tires before you can smile.

I got the insurance and I'm so glad that I did get it. It's simply a must have if you live in the tristate area... I've used it four times and I paid around $500 for it. I've gotten more than $1500 out of it with new tires and rims.

I think mine does too, but since I've stuck with the OEMs, I never bothered to ask. I can't imagine driving around Chicago all the time with anything less robust than the heavy ass 162s. I don't know how some of these guys do it...

I know how you feel. New Orleans is awful!! I guess thats what I get for living in a city below sea level surrounded by water on all sides.

Getting back to the OP question. I do not regret buying wheel and tire insurance. Rates for wheel and tire insurance have increased significantly over the last three years.
My buying pattern is to lease new BMWs every three years. So I am only concerned about that period of time. When I picked up my 2008 328xi, a 3 year (with no $$$ limit) policy from the dealer (issued by EasyCare) was $300 (and they were making $120 profit on that deal!). Two years later, I was quoted $600 on my other new BMW because the rates reflected the high claims that RFT BMWs were experiencing. When I picked up my 2011 328xi, the quote was $1200, and the wheel and tire policy is now marketed by BMW under the BMW brand. Why the increase in rates? Clearly, dealers are in the business to make money and cover their expected claims costs plus a profit. I am fortunate that I have had very few issues with my wheels and tires (in Metro NY no less) and for $1200, I can self insure my risk. Also, read the fine print. The policies are clear about minimum tread on tires, that the wheel cannot hold air if busted, that curb rash is excluded, etc. Most dealers do not take risks of making false claims to insurance companies just to keep you happy, even if you think slipping them a $20, $50 or $100 will grease the wheel. One bad insurance audit will cause huge problems and can cost the dealership big time. So, if you are more likely to be driving into potholes that are unavoidable, or travel on such poor roads in the rain when you cannot make out the location of the next landmine, pay up for the insurance. Just try not play games as the fallout from insurance fraud is not something anyone wants to experience. |

Pretty much like any insurance> Nobody knows what is in store for you and your car for the coming day. I bought it, never used it, replaced runbricks a year ago. Car is a 2008.

How did you get this done?! My dealership denied me rim repair from curb rash. Is there a special way I should approach this? They have replace one tire for me already due to a bubble, but sadly it was not the same rim. Is it just my dealership?
