New PCV Recall!! for e90 n52
Alright boys! It's about time to pull the dealer by the teeth. Randomly checked the recall list for my e90 330xi 6speed and found that there was a new recall issued on March 11, 2022. Previous owner already did a 19V-273 Positive crankcase ventilation system heater. Is the below new 22V-119 the same thing and they just messed up the first recall?
https://www.bmwusa.com/safety-and-em...VD33576KL51744 Positive Crankcase Ventilation (pcv) Valve Heater Are any of you seeing similar recalls for your n52 e90s? The remedy is still being "developed" how long before we can show up at the dealer and demand our $500 in parts and labor? Hopefully my quick catch will save a bunch of people money. |

Wife’s car had the fire and bmw handled the repair, from what I read, they need to do it again.

The dealer broke a hose when they did the recall the first time and I spent MONTHS trying to track down the vacuum leak. I ended up paying an indy shop to trace it, even though it was the dealer that messed it up. Stupid me didn't connect the recall and the increased idle vibrations at first, so be on the lookout after you get your PCV Heater replaced for a rough idle.

Thanks for heads up. Dealer confirmed today there is new recall on my 2006, for the same issue they "repaired" a year or two ago. I'm original owner, have not received notification via mail.
However, Service Advisor stated they have no solution (TSB, SIB, etc) from BMW, so I could not schedule appointment. "BMW is required to notify owners that there is a potential issue"…..sigh To those who received official notification, what action does letter recommend ? Carry fire extinguisher ? Not drive vehicle ? |

PCV heater recall repair complete. Called dealer last week, still hadn’t received official notice. He confirmed open recall on vehicle, and even said repair parts in stock. FCP Euro has excellent explanatory video, provided free as “public service announcement”. Fix is simple, add 7A in line fuse to prevent overheating and possible fire.
Why it took BMW Engineering this long to resolve is a mystery. FYI, dealer performed “service function engine oil deactivation” to remove stubborn red triangle CBS service warning, which he did N/C. (Oil service light no longer resets on my car, due to high mileage) |

Completed mine yesterday, 24 hours after getting a letter telling me "Remedy is available". They kept the car for 1/2 a day, saying they changed the wiring harness.
