Speeding ticket help...

So last night was pretty interesting

4 tickets by a state trooper on the Southern State

- 96 in a 55
- tints
- no front plate
- no signaling when switching lanes

anyone know how I can fight these/reduce them? My court date is 4/15 and I'm going crazy trying to figure my way out of this.

any and everybit of advice is welcome.

Having gone to college in the South, I believe that 96 in a 55 is considered reckless driving. You're going to have to need a really good lawyer for this. I knew someone doing 120 in a 75 without his headlights on at night and it cost him about $1,500+ in lawyer fees so that his license won't be suspended. Then again, he was 19 years old so they might have gone a bit easier on him. He was also out of state.

You will have to show up to court for this and/or hire a really good lawyer.
Some Southern states do not have a front license plate requirement.

LOL. How many speeding ticket threads have been started in the past three years? maybe we should have a "venting" sticky. isn't it weird how tickets and court dates take over you life and stress you out? that's our justice system for you, they don't care about you. haha, its the general consensus to lawyer up and pay up, drive safe.

Get a lawyer. I assume your appearance is scheduled in Hempstead? Normally you can plea bargain, but your infractions are enough to have your license suspended flat out. Your lawyer will be able to fight for you to keep your license, but it depends on how bad your record is and if you're under 21. Also, certain judges in Nassau will REALLY try and stick it to you. Trust me, I know from experience.

You have 2 chances to delay your hearing as well so I would push it back. Since you have a mandatory hearing, the officer will probably show up for a trial / conference.

Were you racing? I can't imagine going that fast on the Southern State.

+1..Nassau is zero tolerance. the advice of pushing it back is great, if the issuing officer doesn't show up, youll have everything dropped although knowing troopers, they'll make it personal.

It's actually really easy and no need to stress. About 1-1.5 Weeks before your court date, a bunch of traffic lawyers will send you flyers to enlist their services. Just hire one and they take care of the rest. They work corrupt back avenues to make money and help you out. :P

I have an n52 trying to keep up with 2 n54s last night. I have another speeding violation that I got in 2010. and im 19 atm. i'll be 20 at the court date though. Do you think that receipts of tint removal, plate installed, & indicator electrical problem fixed would help my cause ..?

don't try and keep up with an n54 i could preach to you but im sure you know what you did and not to do it again. yes and no. they will likely drop your equipment violations but they will still go after you regarding your speeding infraction, as it will be labeled under reckless driving in Nassau county where there are many deaths caused by street racing.

This

Bottom line is that you'll need lawyer to keep your license asap. Don't wait because most lawyers will use the time they have to reach out to someone they know at the county before the hearing. Depending on how bad your last violation was, you might still have points on your license. Infractions come off your license after 18 months without another infraction, however the judges take your age into account and will use this against you. Not trying to scare you, but I had a heavy foot when I was young and learned a lot about how traffic violations and the system work.

your username belongs in this thread lol..

Give Carrie Solages a call 1.516.362.1113. He has helped me out before and several others I know. Tell him David w/ the Subaru sent you. He just took care of my girlfriend's speeding ticket recently.

You're gonna be paying $$ no matter what you do, but he should hook you up. As long as you have a clean record, he should be able to substantially reduce your tickets. Lawyer up...otherwise, you are losing your license lol

Call Frank DeSousa. His office is in the same building as the Nassau Traffic Court and thanks to him I have a clean license. No matter what you pay a lawyer, it'd be better than having that many points on your license at 19
