The "Is this a good deal" question...

Am about to pull the trigger on a 335i sedan for PCD - wondering what folks think of the numbers I'm getting with a couple dealers:

E90 335i with:
Metallic paint
STEP
ZPP
ZSP+paddle shifters
Cold Weather
iPod/USB
PDC

invoice = $43,755 incl. dest.

Offers are $44,734, including $200 MACO, $180 training. So $500 over invoice plus $99 processing. Then t/t/t added on top.

I'm thinking I might be able to do slightly better, but can't tell if I'm reaching too far... My last car, I had dealers going back and forth and got it for less than invoice because it was a year-end, so the "above invoice" concept feels strange right now.

So basically you wrote a post to let us know that while you're tearing hair out over getting $500/$600 over invoice, you're just not sure about things 'cause normally you bend them over the barrel pretty hard. Is that basically it?

Hey, wasn't looking to cause trouble or anything - just a BMW purchasing newbie (but long-time fan) trying to get a sense of the market out there right now, and how good a deal that seems like. My car-buying experiences involved a unique year-end experience, and a car where there was no room to deal at all.

EDIT: Have seen a fair number of threads here where somebody asked "did I get a good deal" after having signed, and people responded, "why ask after you've made the deal?" Thought I'd try to get some feedback beforehand.

yeah that looks like a good deal to me. I'm not exactly sure what the dealers in the washington area are willing to do, but that looks fair

That looks like a very good deal for the DC area. I don't think you can go much lower than $500 over invoice plus MACO and training.

Good luck.

Thanks guys. Have settled in at $400 over invoice plus the $100 "processing fee." Could've gone a little lower, I bet, had I continued the back and forth between a couple dealers. But I am ready to make the deal and want to get it done before the financing runs out. I think that's a very fair price, and I'm truly excited about the car.

Here's hoping the dates work out for PCD!

That's a great deal. Congrats. I'm trying to set up PCD myself. Good luck.
