DOH!- HPFP has struck again!
I have a 2008 Sept. 07 build and my HPFP died today. It died at 31,xxx miles and thats with about 20,000 or so miles with a tune.
Very random, and had no prior symptoms of the dreaded HFPF I've read about. I drove early on the day, everything normal, then suddenly when going about 50% throttle on to a on-ramp and out of no where...engine rev's sporadically, a few seconds later, limp mode. Pulled off the next exit and felt like engine was about to stall out. Luckily I got it home, scanned it with BT scanner, and came up with: 29E2 Fuel injection rail, pressure sensor signal Error will cause a warning light Error is not currently present Test conditions have been completed Short circuit or signal interruption EXPLANATION: Fuel pump code FIX: Normally requires fuel pump replacement
