Correct Turbo Diverter Valve Replacement Part
I'm sorting all air and boost leaks in a couple of weekends time and it has been suggested that I replace the diverter valve 11657601058 on the turbo, as this can fail.
I'm looking at Pierburg parts and two appear to be compatible, but I'm not 100% certain on which is the correct part. There is no Pierburg online catalog against which I can cross reference the BMW part number so I am reliant on third party websites like Autodoc or eBay. I have found the following Pierburg parts: 7.01762.04.0 7.03785.02.0 Can anyone tell me which is the correct part for my 2010 N55? I don't feel the need to spend on the Turbosmart replacement and the GFB part seems a bit pointless as it needs the stock part attached to it. Thanks! |

That's amazing, thank you! I think that confirms in my mind that I need to get part 7.03785.02.0.
Yes, FCP Euro contributed to my confusion in that they list both parts when searching! I've underlined part 7.01762.04.0 - the part above is 7.03785.02.0. |

Changed that part for the DV+ design which uses a solid plunger and is a much more robust design that the rubber diaphragm is standard applications. I suspect that for cold climates like where I live, the continuous thermal expansion, thermal+pressure cycling that the diaphragm is exposed to when the engine turns off and the components cool, would lead to accentuated fatigue for the polymer hence higher risk of microtears. Anyways, my baseless analysis on the side, I would suggest upgrading for the DV+ design if you are willing to and as for the solenoid, it seems like you guys have found the right part. Any of the ones in the includes images from FCP Euro would work, they seem to all be the same. Here is the part number from RealOEM which returns exactly the same search.
