I ran 4 AUX wires to trunk: audio left, audio right, audio ground, audio balance. Also I ran Fakra USB cable. I have not install the Combox yet so not sure how it will work.

Very nice. Combox install should be a breeze.

I have that Iphone thing hook up too but not sure how to go about it. I have another Fakra USB cable for that but I see that there is hook up for antenna too. not sure if I can go without the antenna part and make it work.

Are you talking about the media base phone adapters and such? Those I haven't got a chance to play with myself. Though I'm not sure I'll need it as the phone is never locked away. It should be neat for video playback however. I bought the blue cable in attempt to do it but haven't looked at doing it since. I know forum member Sensible posted a wiring diagram in a thread a while back. If I can find I'll post it here.

Hey! I was just going through this thread in hopes to find some help, im a new E90 owner (first time bmw owner also) I have bought a car with a retrofitted cic i drive retrofit, so: (CIC, TCU + MULF2-high)

The car previously had a bmw professional head unit. So the aux has been wired directly to the head unit or megablock connector.

All functions work except the usb aux in the centre console. I have been told that this needs to be wired from the back of the head unit to the Mulf2 as this will control the aux etc.

Would you be able to guide me on what wires need to be wired and to what locations?

Any help appreciated!

How about BMW Apps. To control the Iphone (or other phone) via Idrive specifically. For example to play Pandora and have it appear on the CID ? Do I need the phone cradle?

For the absence of doubt I'm using an iPhone 7 with the latest iOS
I don't know as I never got apps working on mine. Bluetooth audio streaming works, phone calls work, contact photos work. In order to get Spotify to work I select the phone in multimedia. Steering wheel buttons work.

No video though I can see album art when connected via USB in centre console and whilst using the Apple Music app but not with Spotify.

Every time I connect via USB I have to pair the phone again so I never use it that way and prefer to use Bluetooth.

Im saying that if you just want to listen to music, connect the phone via Bluetooth. In telephone settings there are three symbols. One is music, one is data and one is phone. Ensure that music is selected. You only need data if you want live and that is almost useless anyway.

Once connected, go to multimedia, select your phone start playing music once the music is playing a track from your Apple Music selection. Go to your phone, select pandora/Spotify etc. select the track you want and press play. It will stop Apple Music an start playing the Spotify track. You can now skip spotify tracks. To select another list go to your phone. If you want to select Spotify lists or search you need apps.

For phone calls once youre connected via Bluetooth make a call via your phone or go via iDrive to make a call from your contact lists. I have the touch buttons on the head unit programmed for Wife, parents, work etc so i dont need to take my eyes off the road.

You can hang up via the phone button on the steering wheel.

Pandora and Spotify will show album art on screen if connected via USB. Apps pop up under BMW Apps under connected drive. I can confirm that you can control Spotify from CIC System. I'm almost sure it is be the same with Pandora.

So Aus335iguy and PichaDis11 what is you opinion on iPhone cradle for video steaming? Should I go through the trouble or should I consider alternatives?

Depends if it's important to you. I prefer to drive the thing and don't often spend enough time in the car to watch a video...
