I'm not sure what you are looking for in a 'good' video but I've used these two videos to review track layout and see what worked for that particular user

thanks for the tip on the requirement change satakal

guys how does BMWCCA work regarding instructors. I asked for 'group C' because of my lack of laguna specific experience.. will I get an instructor in that group? And does that seem like an appropriate group for someone with prior open track experience but no track specific experience?

All drivers, regardless of group, receive instruction. As far as C being the right group, that's hard to say. The day's events will tell you that. Is it your first time with BMWCCA?

Yup first time with BMWCCA. Curious to see what $325 buys me compared to $159. Wasn't going to bite but couldn't find other laguna days in the first half of '09 so decided to give it a try. Pretty excited

I'm not so much concerned that I'll be in a 'slow' group (I'm pretty non competitive at DEs) but more concerned that people will have some unspoken bias that I did not start in D or whatever the n00b run group is and getting sign off to 'move up'.

(I went to a HOD day, it was my first time running with them and i was in their 'advanced' group and even though the chief instructor rode with me and okay'd me for that group I felt like I got a lot of people looking at me wondering WTF I was doing there and I really do not want a repeat of that experience on Jan 16)

When you're on the track do you really have time to look at the sticker on the car passing you or that you're passing? I don't. I can't imagine anyone caring what group you come from. It's how you drive when on track that is talked about, and only if it's negative.

If you drive in Advanced with HOD and are in Ds with BMWCCA you should swallow your pride and drive perfectly smooth the first session. You'll automatically be fast with the good and smooth line. This should get the instructor to move you up to the next group for the rest of the day. BMWCCA rewards safe, smooth and consistent driving.

The BMWCCA instruction is always good and can be great. Give into it and learn. The safety record with them is top notch also. The next time you drive solo you should have same new wisdom to help you get around the track faster and more smoothly.

$325.00? Isn't it $265.00? What day at Laguna is $159.00? I wanna go to that.

Nice sounds good. thanks for the info

My bad, nasa norcal laguna days are $229 not $159. my last few thill and infineon DEs have been $159, so this BMWCCA day is like 2 months worth of entertainment

np.

I'm a C driver and I requested C. Never having been ontrack at laguna, I'm gonna try and skip my C drivers meeting and ride passenger first thing. I did that the first time I saw Buttonwillow CCW and it worked out well. If you need to get moved up or down in group, they'll take care of your needs.

My observation is driver's skill of SoCal NASA HPDE3 is = bmwcca C. (I hear that there is a big difference between SoCal NASA HPDE3 and NorCal's.)

Have any of you seen the insurance option they have?

http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...67D5A5359B975A

Not bad $$-wise, especially if it rains.
