I am new to this so please have some patience with me. I have been trying to get this up and running on my own for a couple days now and have been reading and reading but I still cannot get up and running. I have installed ane re-installed the Bimmer Geeks version of StandardTools and ISTA D. I have been able to get the software installed but when I go to VCI Config I do not have the option for the K+ DCAN cable. It only offers ICOM/ENET. This is what I see. Please any help would be much appreciated.

Nice thread on ISTA, thanks! I'm about to throw in the towel on INPA (too difficult to maintain in English, etc.). I understand that ISTA+ is only a full replacement for F-series and up, but I've got E-series. Would ISTA-D together with ISTA-P handle both diagnostics and coding for my E-series? (EDIT: The answer seems to be yes). I have both xDrive and key replacement projects pending. My plan was to blow out INPA from my VirtualBox Windows 10 32-bit VM and replace INPA with ISTA. (EDIT: That didn't work, so I'm moving on to a completely fresh install under a new Win10-64 VM). I have a native switchable K-line/D-CAN cable leftover from INPA (no iCom cable and hoping I won't need one just yet).

I decided to go with a fresh install under a new Win10Pro-64 VM. I've installed BMW Standard Tools from the linked folder, thanks! I'm now trying to install ISTA by following the "GUIDE TO ISTA+.pdf" installation instructions. Steps 1 and 2 refer to "Unblock.reg" and "Prerequisites.7z". I can't find either of these in TOOLS nor in ISTA_v4.29.21. What am I missing? EDIT: Is fix.reg a suitable replacement for Unblock.reg?

If you have a windows pc I don't see why you would run a virtual machine
since it slows things down and the two levels of interfacing makes everything
more difficult.
Is the 7z a zipped file ? Did you try opening those files in a txt editor like note.
If it's a 7z file you have to unzip it.

Ista + does e90's it just does the other newer cars to .
at least the bimmergeeks old Ista + download does.

Ista problems

I installed Ista+ 4.32.20 from a torrent but now it is asking for a license file? There is no ISTA+Launcher only an ISTA-P launcher in the torrent. Any advice welcome.

No emulator option

I have everything up and running but I don't get an emulator option for using K+DCAN cable. Yes I have run patch. All other programs work great, ISTA+/INPA/Tool32/NCSExpert/WinKFP.

This is ISTA/D 4.15.31 with a torrent for SQLiteDBs. I can get ISTA/P but I really have no use for it, and like pointed out, it's password roulette.

Links are no longer available, does anyone have anything new that works?
thanks
