I had a similar problem and a new cable helped. I just took it back to the dealer and said it wasn't working properly and they exchanged it.

Same Problem

I have the same problem. I don't think it's the cable, because it does the same thing if I directly plug in a flash drive or my ipod. Song will stop playing mid-song and, after a time of nothingness, it jumps to FM radio. If I then go back to ipod/flash drive it will keep playing. Anybody find a solution, is there a firmware upgrade or something?

I just want to add myself to this list. I ended up buying a new Ipod that I haven't used yet, so if this is an I-Drive issue, buying the new Ipod did me no good.

The Ipod either cuts off mid-song, or sometimes the car won't list the Ipod under "external devices" as if it's not sensing it at all.

I have been dealing with the same thing, and it takes multiple attempts of plugging my ipod in until the signal gets picked up again.
