i-Drive Controller Unit Multi-functional UPGRADE
Hi guys, I want to upgrade my i-Drive Controller from this version : to this one: PN : 65829189048 I have a : '07 BMW 335i Produced : 09/2006 Production Code: WB73 Last VIN 6 Digits: P031467 My questions are : 1)Has anyone done this? Any previous threads about that? 2)Any electronic changes in circuitry that have to be made for the extra buttons to become functional? 3)I'm ordering a genuine BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Interior Trim, so should I order the "Decorative Panel for Center Console w/ iDrive" for a newer model than my car so that it fits the larger looking Controller unit? Please I need assistance as soon as possible so I can proceed with my orders. Thanks everyone! |

Do you think that number 5 is the right one as opposed to number 6? Part 5: 51 16 0 416 207 Part 6: 51 16 0 416 209 Website: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=51&fg=95&hl=2 |

I found the same thing, it looks like part 5 but it does not say what finish it has, in my E92 335i I have the wood finish.
If anyone knows if that is the right part and what finish it comes in that would be a great help! |

This might help with the trim issue:

Check that thread carefully - I think the build date of your car is too early and that LCI controller will NOT work. Don't waste your time & money on the controller and trim without checking this first! (I'm pretty sure your car has to be 3/07 build or newer)

farbmw I guess this is the most clear conclusion I ever found during my entire research... Turns out the BMW Accessories page of North America can't be trusted for part numbers... The part number they had on their website created the whole confusion. Check this page for more info: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=224629&page=5 Anyways I gave BMW a whole list of Part # that I wanna buy. Right now they're checking the list to ensure the compatibility of all part numbers with my car trim... So I'll let you know what happens with the BMW Beirut dealership as soon as I know! |

FYI - I have a 9/06 E90 - the new LCI controller does not work correctly. The buttons work fine, but the rotational "knob" is inoperative. I would check this carefully on your before running out and buying the controller and trim.
I think you need a build of 3/07 or newer AND have recent software in your car.. |
