why would someone take over your lease if you can have a brand new 328 w/ SP for the same price? the current lease rate is 4.9% and you're probably paying more than that b/c its a 2006 ... you will probably have to reduce your offer (and loose some $$) if you want to find someone ..
btw: try http://www.leasebusters.com PS: the other problem i see is that you're in Quebec ... it's going to be A LOT of hassle from someone outside Quebec to take over your lease !!

Responsibilty
You DO know that even though you transfer the lease you are still responsible for the car if the new owner defaults on the payments right?

NOPE! I transferred my lease on my 2004 3 series to my brother and the dealer told me that I would ultimately be responsible if anything happened. I called BMW FS and they told me the SAME thing. You are ALWAYS responsible for your lease there is NO WAY around it unless the dealer buys the car from BMW FS then the guy buys the car from the dealer then it's in his name and he deals with his bank or BMW FS but straight up lease transfers GUARANTEED you are responsible. Same thing with Honda. When I found someone to transfer the lease the dealer bought the car from HONDA FS and then sold it to him otherwise I would have been responsible.

You are wrong. On a lease transfer BMWCanada has the option to choose to allow the tranferor off the hook or not. Where the credit rating of the transferee is not as high as that of the transferor, obviously the transferor is not going to be allowed off the hook. We transfered a lease in the past an were let off (we were the transferors) bcs, as we were told, the transferee had the same credit rating as we did. It is however up to BMWCanada and you as a transferor have to push for it to obtain it, but the fact that you can never be off the hook is not true.

Thanks for the advice - reason why I put it for sale knowing that the 328 is more or less even is because; if someone only wants a lease for the next 2 years and 4 months instead of 39 months... also, the difference b/w the 328 and 325 is not very significant.... 15hp Thanks for the input tho! UP |
