Never again!
About a year ago I picked up a brand new Mishimoto FMIC because I liked that it used the factory connections. I ended up selling it and have just been running the stock FMIC but I accidentally won a brand new AMS for a steal of a deal on eBay so figured I'd install it. Good gracious, what a PITA! This has to be the most frustrating job I've ever done on this car. Makes the VCG seem like child's play! I've been working on it for 8 hours and will have to finish tomorrow. If I ever have another e90, I will NEVER use an intercooler that uses silicone couplers. Just had to rant because I'm frustrated as all get out over being defeated by such a stupid task.

Lmfao I love the jobs that make me reconsider everything and wonder if it's all worth it lol so rewarding in the end though. Why did you sell the Mishimoto intercooler?

lol just installed a vrsf 7". It took me two (lazy) days to get it right lol. First day I was too stubborn to take the bumper off. Second day spent most of my time trying to get the lower CP clamp on. If I had to do it again it'd take me an hour or two tho, great learning experience and practice in patience lol.

My Helix (which nobody wanted to buy, by the way) went up in 30 min, just from the bottom, no bumper came off.

Sometimes the small jobs can turn into a long mess. My vrsf 7in took me about 3-4 hours, it was my first time ever using a dremmel and I was a little freaked out about cutting all the plastic, in hindsight it's no big deal. I didn't have to remove the bumper at all on my e92, just bent it downward. My dad held the fmic up for me while I tightened the clamps down and it was good to go.
Several weeks later one of the connections loosened when I hit a speed bump bc I didn't tighten it down enough, but other than that it's been solid for more than 5 years.

I got me an vrsf 7.5 race and it took me 6 hours to get it on. I cutted ALOT of plastic behind the bumper to fit it. But it was all worth it. My iat are super low on wot now!
