Awesome, I think I just found my new brake setup. Just need to decide on what color to powerder coat them Will wait until the pad issue is ironed out and what options we have.
It's time for brakes, so when I do this I'll be swapping out the rotors, lines, and fluid. Now we just need an option for the rears. |

IMHO, the ideal kit would adapt the F30 parts to the E90 spindle. That way, OE-compatible pads and rotors for the F30 can be leveraged. Of course, I don't know how feasible a caliper adapter would be in this application. -Rob |

I asked this question on the other thread but I'll move it here.
1. Will these maintain the same brake bias as OEM? 2. It sounds like these will require custom pads? Will there be a multitude of compounds available? e.g. PFC01's or similar? |

Seriously bud? Is that basically an "I don't know?". Next time, that'd be a better answer to a question by a future potential customer than ignoring the question, or some kind of stupid question like if I want the product to work. Give me a break. |

I want the brakes to work before they're sold as well. I thought that it was fair to assume when the product was released, it'd be functioning. Silly me.
So to be clear, I'll qualify: What is the scheduled release date of a working set of upgraded brakes? You'd think I were asking for his mother's maiden name and SS#. Last edited by AWD Addict; 10-26-2016 at 09:21 AM.. |

^ Maybe that's what happens when you're the 'forum expert'.?. Members and customers to him, his head swells a bit, and can come off as arrogant and contrite with his answers at times. I know this from personal experience and after being a customer for 4 years, I'm done. Honestly, a better business practice is to actually produce a product then bring it to market instead of look at this, oops, maybe it'll work and maybe it won't. Stay tuned

I'm gonna go out on a limb here. He's a forum sponsor here and he's advertising a product what he wants to sell. I just assume when there's news he'll post it.

Some of you guys are just idiots. The first post is less than a month old and came with the caption: "R&D just started...Check back often for updates!"
As if a vendor who is attempting to offer something that isn't offered by every other vendor "forgot" to announce when it's ready. It's one thing when Shiv posts that he'll have a map update or product ready "in the next few days" and 3 weeks goes by...I don't think it's the case here... |

I was defending you. It's just funny how people don't use common sense before they post. Just like you and chumley pointed out, the original post says check here for updates. If you knew the release date or had something interesting to share I'm pretty sure you would post it.

I don't want to stretch this out any longer than anyone of you. The sooner this is done, the sooner I can move on to the next R&D project. |

Guys,
Let HPA finish their research. It's brakes we are talking about here, not interior CF wraps. Brakes are critical safety equipment!

It's not that simple. A private party may bolt these on and call it good. We have to measure piston sizes, measure annulus and pad height, calculate brake bias and ultimately stand behind this product. Road and track testing must also be done before this kit gets our approval. If the numbers don't look right and road and track testing don't return with good results, this kit is not going to the market. The calipers will make nice displays though!

Since so many of you PMed for updates. Here is the left and right calipers installed. Photo taken just a couple of weeks ago. The vehicle is currently undergoing street and track testing.
Vehicle is a 2011 335i N55 with a manual transmission. Suspension mod includes HP's Koni Single Adjustable coilover system with Swift springs, corner balanced and HP performance alignment. The brakes are simply wonderful. More brake torque than oem single piston caliper can provide. Solid brake pedal. Larger pad contact surface than OE. No lost in swept area like some other bolt-on calipers. We would like to put a few thousand miles on these brakes, tear it down and inspect everything before giving it the green light for public sale. What is the finish of the caliper - is it like the E90 ones with the cast (dimpled) appearance or smooth like an aftermarket BBK?
It would be nice if these could easily be p/c to a smooth finish. Unless using a filler on the E90's, you can't get a good finish.
