N00b to the forums... Quick stealership question...

Hey everyone I am new to the forums... Came over from a lifetime in the Audi world. Moved to Miami and no longer need AWD/Quattro...

Just leased a 2011 328i E90 last week... HAD to go for the manual transmission. I am not the best at driving stick, but when I saw the performance numbers it was a no brainer.

All I've done so far is tints, and 6000k HIDs in the original halogen housings (actually looks great)... and in the fogs. The LUX 5.0s arrive this Friday

----------------

QUESTION: will the dealership order and install (and warranty) BMW performance intake and exhaust? I realize my car is a lease, but I will probably purchase the car at the lease end.

congrats :P

if you are thinking about buying at the end then why lease?
wouldn't the .9% be cheaper?

Gee - new owner and already screwed up the car. 6000k bulbs by themselves are illegal. In the halogen housing they are illegal and dangerous.

Don't worry about your warranty with the exhause - you've already kissed your electrical warranty goodbye with those tacky and dangerous lights.

And what do you disagree with?

The fact that he's put HID bulbs into a halogen housing or the fact that he has opened himself up to warranty woes because he's screwed with the electrics?

Not if he hasn't been flagged, put the original lights in and give it a shot at the dealer

Wow, they're really THAT bad? I made sure to adjust the beams so they didn't point high enough to "blind" anyone. As far as legal, I was pretty sure that 8000k and up was illegal.

And besides you can't void the electrical warranty unless they prove the bulbs/ballasts caused the electrical problem. The car looks great IMO... I'm sure there are mods on this board that I wouldn't agree with, but, to each his/her own.

The whole point of this thread was to find information about the BMW performance exhaust and warranty issues...

Just FYI, all "official" BMW performance parts do not void your warranty unless they were installed improperly (by a private non-BMW party) and whatever the failure is caused by the improper installation. So if it has a BMW part number, you're warranty should remain intact
