Enlighten me on K+DCAN cables
I am new to programming interface via USB K+DCAN cable. I have two 335's an '07 and '08. My cable does not have a switch on the shell. I read that there was some change in how the communications worked between these years and that I need the cable with the switch to talk to the '07 correctly. The switch alters the pins on the OBD2 connector, if I understand. My question is: do I need the switched K+DCAN cable if working on an '07 335?

Pretty sure the switch is used for e46s. Cables without a switch (so any modern/high end cable) needs a special adapter box/OBD2 cable I think to swap a few pins around. e36s/e30s can be communicated with using a circular OBDI adapter. I remember there being a specific name for that particular OBDI plug but I can for the life of me remember off the top of my head
If you are using the cable for an e9x+, you don't need to flip the switch
