Great. I am glad that also your car made it. I think boas1 is right: the
software upgrade is for the automatic. Good thing we learned is that
it takes only 24 h from VPC to both dealer (Chicago and New York).

Boas1: if they do the update on monday you could get delivery as
early as Wed.

Hi Guys. So my dealer just called me. I will be picking up the car around 5pm this afternoon. I will take pics at the dealership and post them here.

Now, I just need to focus and try to get some work done.

The hardest part of the wait for me was from when the vessel docked until now. You guys made the wait much easier and I thank you for that. Hopefully we will ALL be in our cars very soon.

Thanks again fellas.

My CA advised 48 hours to get onto truck and get to Chicago, one day to prep, estimates I can pick up on Thursday. I am happy with that estimate as long as it is no longer.

Let us know how your car is when you get it tomorrow! Good luck.

Here it is:

I'll post more in the images section.
Cars had 2 miles on the odo !!

it is perfect except a minor hair thin stratch on the roof next
to the driver door (is less than ~ 1/2 " but they will buff it next week
Should let them do it or not ???) also the plastic rail on the
roof has a thin scratch and they will replace it.

Besides this is really really perfect,

Thank you boas1. I drove ~ 50km (yes I am used to km and
the computer is easly programmable).

WHAT A CAR !

Take off with the all wheel drive is very stable and solid.
Perhaps the car is a little less sportier than the rear wheel
drive on quick turns but it is hard to say on dry surfaces.
I'll see on wet next rain ...
but I have to admit I really like the "solid" and stable take off. Unfortunatelly I cannot push hard till break-in is complete
(2000km or so).

Quiet is the other amazing feature of this engine. It is really quite
and strong .... what a car .... I think I am falling in love ....

Let me know how it goes with yours,

take care

On my way to the dealer now!

Got the call this morning, my 325xi is in. Just confirmed it is ready for pickup with another software update (that makes multipe updates for a car build completed on 9/15) so I hope all goes well. Will update tonight after I go out and burn a tank of gas!

Got the new car but...

Just picked up my new 325xi tonight and everything went okay, except they had to repair the cover to the small storage compartment in center console because it wouldn't close....
and cannot get PDC to work. Button under radio next to left heated seat switch is not there. Sensors in back but no sounds and no button where the manual said it should be. Am I missing something?

I am not sure I don't have PDC on mine.
Do you have more photos of the car ?

congrats on the car....I wonder how the hell it got through VPC with those issues???? That's really weird. What did the dealership say about it?

Also - the dealer didn't give you the car with a full tank of gas?????

New 325xi is awesome

The new car is great, already over 100 miles. The PDC was explained on another thread for me that the US version has no button, even though shown in the owners manual. Lesson learned, BMW documentation is pretty weak.

fdc, agree with you the handling is great and corners on a dime. Cannot believe how quiet the ride is, even on the tollway. Going downstate tomorrow night on 200 mile trip, can hardly wait. Will post some pictures on Sunday when I get back. Hope everyone enjoys their new cars this weekend, Class of Franconia
