My '07 E92 335i M-Sport

I've owned my 335i for almost a year now so wanted to create a thread where i can post up any mods, problems & fixes etc.

I was looking for a fairly fast, fun weekend car for around 10k.
I looked at the usual imprezas, Evo's, hot hatches, boosted Jap cars etc. but i wanted something with a bit of class/understated look whilst still looking sporty.

After some research i decided the E92 M-Sport ticks all the right boxes for me so i upped my budget a tad and got myself this....

My very first mod was a Bimmian colour coded keyhole cover. Cleans up the door handle a treat.

Then I ordered a set of Avant Garde M359's from ******** in 9J/10J.
For the rubber I went with Goodyear Eagle F1 assy 2's. 235/35/19 & 265/30/19.
I was soo glad to get shot of the runflats.
The ride is pretty comfortable now

Ive never been truly happy with how the stock tailpipes look. They stick out a bit too far and look a bit feeble and lost compared to the size of the cutout on the diffuser.

So a couple of weeks ago I booked the car in at my local powerflow dealer and had some 4" tips welded on.

I'm very pleased with the new exhaust tips. They don't look too big or silly. Maybe 3.8" would be the perfect size but powerflow only did the 4".
I asked for them to be flush with the diffuser which looks so much better IMO

A week later I purchased a performance diffuser off a member on here in gloss black. Which was exactly what I was after to complete the rear end for now. Although I may consider LCI tail lights at some point (if they come down in price)

It looks great fitted, really toughens up the back.
The only issue is that I had my new tips welded to sit flush with the original M-Sport diffuser and now I've fitted the performance one the tips are actually tucked in a bit now.
Still pretty happy with it though.

So this is how she currently sits.

Next mod will probably be suspension. Need to lose that front arch gap!

All in all its been a great first year of ownership.
The car hasn't put a foot wrong really.
Got myself the BMWhat app and a generation 2 OBDII reader.
I hope to have a crack at most of the DIY's as they come my way.
Also hope to catch up with a few of ya at some meets etc.

Cheers guys.

Guess I'm going for a sort of OEM+ look.
Just subtle mods.

A slight drop of 10/15mm is next up and I think the kidney grills are aftermarket ones which I want to change for the genuine gloss black BMW ones.
I don't think I'll be doing anything else to the exterior after that.

Indeed red leather, Nav and a manual I'd of killed for this 3 years ago as I gave up looking and ended up with Space Grey & Black,, oddly enough looking at the pictures the CSL wheel on the eye make the car ride height wise appear slightly higher than the factory 224 wheel do, which might be the longer slender factory spoke's creating this illusion but a slight drop would bring this back in to line rather nicely.

Love the tips and defussor they've worked really well

Nice car, love the colour combo. Plan on getting a similar spec e93 in a year or so.

Have you changed kidney grills already? Also, out of curiosity, how many miles are on the clock?

Yes this was the colour combo I had my heart set on.
SGM with coral red leather. M-Sport. Manual & I-drive.
I wanted as new and as low mileage as I could afford. The LCI's were a bit out of reach seeing as this car is my weekend toy and the budget would only stretch so far. Also I liked what I read about the N54's being the engine of choice for modding.

I spent a good year looking but was in no real rush. Then this one popped up.
It had 62,000 miles on the clock which I was fairly happy with. The only downside was it had a few more previous owners than I would have liked but you can't have everything eh?!

Spent the day on a train to go and check it out then drove it back home.

I think a previous owner had changed the grills for aftermarket ones at some point. I'm not keen on the style of them plus everything else is gloss black and they are matt.

Exactly what I was looking for a few years ago, best combo imo.

Do you have BMW warranty with it? The repair work I've had done is probably more than the car cost me.

No I didn't go for the warranty in the end.
Because of the mileage it was in the higher bracket. So I've decided to live life on the edge and go without.

I am trying to tuck a bit away each month for anything that may crop up though.
I only do 2-3000 miles a year so I'm hoping not much needs doing.

It has had the HPFP replaced a couple of years ago. Still original water pump & turbos as far as I can tell.

Like I said all it has cost me this first year is an oil change, filters, brake fluid change & wheel alignment. Apart from the mods that is

This is my dream combo too. Those wheels are perfect. Would you consider the m3 lip spoiler? I have one on mine (although not a 335i), was a perfect fit and colour match (from eBay/Taiwan). I'm thinking about the gloss black kidney grilles too but need to sort out some dings first.

Keep up the good work!

I'll take a proper photo of the rear and post it up when I get a chance.
I have considered the M3 lip spoiler but not yet convinced I need it in my life

My to do list goes something like this:

Suspension (Eibach pro springs and/or shocks)

Performance kidney grills (gloss black)

Lift front bumper up a tad if possible to reduce the shut gap.

Change speedo LEDs to white with red needles

CDV delete & synthetic trans. fluid change

Update Nav to 2015

Paint rear calipers & hubs. I did the fronts last month(graphite colour)

Possibly get the intake walnut blasted.

Attempt to fix anything that breaks along the way

It really does take time to find the right car in the right combo, since i said goodbye to my E92 there has been nothing in E90 or 91 format that has come close to what i want!

Patience is key and its very rewarding when you finally find it!!
