Bumpity. For more votes and input.

So far...BBQ is leading. We should finalize the event by this Saturday...so get your votes in!

Then we will be setting a date up (likely sometime in June). Then a list of stuff needed (like BBQ, coolers) etc. Also will need a list of what people need to bring. A list of volunteers (setup, cooking and cleanup). Also suggestions on where to have the BBQ. Anybody have suggestions of a park with lots of parking and picnic table with covers (just in case?).

More in a few days.

if u go far more into UBC there is a beach down there and with LOTS of parking
with nice view....
i was wondering why did we park at that parking lot last meet
because that huge parking lot is near the place we park last time but with better place to park...

Ps: we can BBQ there as well...

Ok...this thread has been quiet for a few days now. So looks like we are going ahead with the BBQ. We are looking at a either a late June or early July date.

We need to decide on a place. So far only two suggestions: a) down by the US/CDN border, b) at a beach at UBC.

If you have a better place in mind, or have a preference between the two, please post!

If it rains...we might need to find a contingency place to meet up. Would really suck to cancel after all the planning. Mike @ MWDesign & Unique Detailing has graciously offered us to meet at his shop if it rains...(we will have some shelter from the rain). Might be something we could take him up on...

Now that we have a BBQ settled on...who actually has these items?

1) BBQ (charcoal preferred)
2) Lighter fluid
3) Charcoal
4) Ice box coolers
5) Folding chairs or tables

We will also need to start organizing as to what people need bring as well (food wise)...but maybe in the next post in a few days.

Lol. Yeah the other stuff is kinda minor items. I think the most important part is BBQ...not sure how many of us have access to a BBQ. Might need a couple since there may be quite a few of us and we may need to cook a bit...

Likely to set for late June early July.

Need to see if members even have BBQs before we confirm a date. LOL.

The irony would be if everyone who voted for BBQ don't even own a BBQ. Hehe.

somehow now I think it's gonna be hard to set up a bbq... not trying to ruin everyone's wish...and I guess we have to decide which type of bbq are we going for? the chinese way ( each holding their own long fork or wutever that call) or the one man stand way?

I think it will be easiest for each member who is coming to bring money and then get a few members to buy all the food all together.. this way, it saves the hassle of "whos getting what food"

if around 10-15 people show up, I am guessing something like $20/person should do? maybe just also get them to bring drinks?

I've done this method before, but its always hard b/c people don't show up (which increases the cost per person), so the numbers never match up perfectly

i suggest you to have a pre-meet 2 weeks before BBQ meet to collect $.. lol

seriously. it won't work out.. too many factors that would prevent this from happening.. unless
1) someone would be the boss, or organizer
2) get a sponsor
3) everyone attending expected to pay $50 max for food/drinks. "(to cover up those who back out)
4) whoever showing up on BBQ meet must prepaid to organizer at least a week prior. or no admittance on that day.
......etc

factors preventing this to happen:
1) ppl big mouth when signing up. back out at the end
2) ppl are cheap, dont chip out
3) ppl are not united, don't trust each other
4) ppl are selfish, do not want to spend time organizing
5) ppl have different ideas.
...etc

LMFAO......... :P

agree?
