I thought the first episode was a bit boring, but last week was quite good. I liked Amy Mcdonald too!

What's on it tonight?

That Astra VXR looks decent, 276 BHP through the front wheels seems madness but Clarkson reckons vauxhall have done a good job

I love Top Gear - I even went to watch them live. However, I can't help but feel disappointed with this series. It's the first time I've ever felt disappointed with TG. Even their abilities to entertain are draining...rapidly.

I'll never switch off - just wish they would do something....different?

It's not as bad as it sounds...if the chassis can cope with it. When I remapped my GTI (the first time) I though...wow...why didn't VW do this at the first time of asking? The chassis was more than abled to take the extra BHP. Admittedly, it wasn't great in the wet - but then which car really is? Stupidity will always lose against the laws of gravity.

I didn't even watch it tonight. Plan is to fast forward through the bullshit and try and extract the good points, if any. I did hear they are doing a rugby thing....Jheez.

All those new Kias getting wrecked ......... madness but great fun no doubt for JC and the rest.

The Astra looks pretty decent too.

I love top gear but thought it was a really poor episode tonight.
The only good point was Hamilton, knocked over a second off Vettels time!

I also feel a little disappointed in this series as well, can't really put my finger on what it is, I just feel they have to go back to basics and review a few more cars I stead of some of the stuff they do.

This series is a carbon copy of the last few imo. If you watch TG for car reviews you're in the wrong place, and have been for a while.

Tonight's show wasn't the best tbh. I think I muted the rugby bit and made a phone call.

Liked the episode tonight... Kia stuff showed their pulling power what with eric clapton, bruce willis and to a lesser extent matt le blanc doing cameos.

Kia rugby was uttershite.

I've felt disappointed this series too

I think it's a combination of a lengthy break, them trying too hard to be big bold and entertaining and not enough interesting car content.

I thought is was good again.

Looking at the lap times the Astra VXR was 1 second fsster than the Focus RS and the Megane 1.6secs.

It did look very flat and stable on track.

Enjoyed the Rugby. Think some of you miss the point of the show as I'd said before.

But it was obvious TG had to do a lot of ass licking to get permission to mash the cars up, hence the lengthy review of a dull hatchback before the eventual rugby segment.

Thought the news piece on handbrakes was very funny.

But worst episode of the series so far for me overall...

At least the guest wasn't shite this week.

Something definitely missing from this series, can't put my finger on it though! I've taken to Sky+ ing it and zapping through all the dung! Only takes about twenty minutes to watch it now!
I was impressed with the look no hands Kia parking, just what my wife needs !!
Just remember Fifth Gear is on tomorrow night !!!

Clarkson kept going on about this amount of power through the front wheels like it never been done before.............errrrrr......Focus RS anyone? Ford having been doing this with 300bhp+ for a couple of years or more.

In fact the next Focus RS is going to have 350bhp through the front wheels...http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Secret-...bhp-hot-hatch/

The shot of the Megane information screen made me chuckle. It briefly showed his performance figures of 0-60 in 7 something seconds and quarter mile in 15 something seconds. Hardly a scorching hot hatch - or he cant drive. I've no idea of the spec of the Megane, but if its up against a 270bhp Astra then it should be on par with it.

Autocar said that it would be 330bhp.

The last Focus did have a RS500 model with 350bhp but they only made 500 of which 100 were sold on the UK.

I know a couple of guys with a Focus RS and they struggle badly with tyre wear. Only looking at 4000 miles for front tyres.

The front wheels are doing too much.

Exactly what I was thinking. But how did they sweet talk Twickenham into wrecking the pitch?

Something tells me that last nights TG was all about product placement! KIA must have paid/made a fortune to have two starring slots, OK it cost them a handful of bruised and battered Cee'ds - peanuts compared to the exposure they have given their car.

Agree that TG is turning dull and has been for a few years. Same old, same old.

I imagine it was filmed a few months ago during off season when Twickers wanted to relay the pitch in any case. No way they'd do it during a season.
