Gauging interest: Groupbuy on SWS-8 subwoofers

Hey guys,

A while ago I posted this thread asking if anyone has done the SWS-8 upgrade.

A few of you had shown interest in possibly getting a group buy going.

I know a vendor who sells them (best price I've found) and was going to buy from him for myself but figured I'd see with you guys if you want to organize a group buy.

I'm not sure yet what further discounts we could get until I tell him how many sets we'd want, but I do know that from what I found, he had the best price.

I could arrange everything with this vendor and would be happy to receive the products and then meet up with you guys for delivery.

MODS: the vendor is not an advertiser on the forums but I do believe he is a member. If this is in anyway breaking forum rules, feel free to delete this thread and let me know.

All e90 uses 8" subs except the OEM HU powered subs which are 6.5". Regardless of the OEM sub size, SWS will fit and work just fine.

how much are these? have no idea what subs i have. have an E90 325i whith no logic7. would love to upgrade the stock subs if it works and the price is reasonable!

the vendor is selling them straight up for 120 a piece. if we do a groupbuy, i would imagine that that price would come down but i dont know how much. he said to let him know how many units we'd order and then he'd give us a price.

as L7 vs. non-L7, i'm pretty sure you can use them in either configuration, but if you want the subs to make a difference, you will have to power them with an aftermarket amp. from what most people on the forums have said, if you plan on doin the sub replacement without giving them more power, you won't see enough of a difference.

what model#? i have a RF 4channel and a Kenwood mono amp sitting at home from my cold car... might be able to use those

I've been running 2 SWS 8's (4ohm) fed by a Alpine MRP-450 in a L7 equiped ride for almost half a year now and haven't had any problems with it. Sometimes I think it's too much bass. lol

If anyone wants to check it out before they make the jump just holla at me!

i would be 100% down....if i can hear it in someones car first. I know thy have pretty good reviews on e90/e82 forums, but id like to get a first hand experience. I am definitely in if the dude sells any other brands too. Maybe he can give a light discount on even another sub? let me knoww!
