You'd honestly be fine with a 255. You could most likely do a 265 too

Fitment will really come down to vehicle ride height and what tire brand/size you end up going with. Not all tires are created equal, even if they advertise the same widths.

Slightly stretching 255/35-18's would help with fender clearance, but you would also be limiting rear end grip in the process. 265/35-18 and 275/35-18 are ideal tire widths for the 9.5" wheel.

Typically the 18x9.5" ET22 on the rear of the E90 LCI will require negative camber to prevent rubbing, and possibly a light fender roll.

219M wheels are 18x9.5 +23 in the rear. Here they are on my E90 with a 255. Plenty of room for a 265 without issues!

That is a pre-LCI. LCI hub is another 8mm towards the fender.

It really depends if OP is lowered....

It can be done, but it's a pretty aggressive setup that will require additional camber and fender rolling. I'm running a 265 in the rear on a 25mm offset lowered on coilovers with fender rolling and still rub with stock-like camber. With people in my back seat it's constantly rubbing.
