Air Intake Scoops – E90, E91, E92, E93 NOW SOLD

NOW SOLD. For sale: a pair of intake scoops for the E9x range. Brand new, never used. Made of stainless steel and painted black. To be installed behind the kidney grilles using existing hardware and without the need to drill new holes. £25 including postage.

Out of curiosity, do you know if there are any performance benefits from the air scoops. I read an old thread not long ago and there were many conflicting views... some saying it's good at higher speeds but others claim it just sucks in more water and bugs.

Could anybody shed some light here?

Yes you're right, views vary. I think you're right that it helps mainly at higher speeds. But I'll tell you a funny story about an added benefit - I recenly hit a phesant at 70mph and it went straight in one of my kidney grilles. If it hadn't been for the air scoop, which took the full impact, I reckon the bird would have burst my radiator..!

air intakes have splash panels inside of every car,,they have an angle where entry of water and the likes gets disipated,,some will still naturally get through but is kept to a minimum,,
