Ok so I managed to wrap the window trim.
As a first timer I did ok, I do have to re-do one topside piece as I stretched it a touch too much and the matte finish went a bit glossy so it is very noticeable.

Pic 3, Trim removed. On dining table. Thanks wife. (with drink...)
Pic 4, Side by side of the unwrapped and wrapped.

I also learned that is is much easier if you remove the rubber seals from the trim before wrapping, they are not too hard to press back in place.

I was going to leave the trim on the car to do this but I wanted the wrap to go over the edges on all pieces so it looked clean.

I think it looks a little better...
Now I think she needs new shoes.

To be honest mate I just went to autobarn and got designer wrap standard. (matte black) I was thinking if I stuff the whole thing up I will just peel it off and start again. If it starts looking a bit iffy soon I will order some good quality wrap and do it again. I think i could do a much better job now already. Happy so far though.

Actually, first, sparks, coils, walnut blast. Then I will paint the lower mesh on the bumper, get black side indicators, WHEELS!, new white bulbs for the angel eyes, suspension, then FMIC, catless DP's, air filter, MHD flash, then lots of things. Then more things. So......lots of fun to come.

Finally received my bimmergeek cable in the mail...
Booked in for a walnut blast on Wednesday.
then next week, plugs and coils.
That should be the initial maintenance done.

Question, coils, OEM? or PR or Bimmerlife?

Should I upgrade now? The plan is to go full bolt ons on stock turbos (at least for a while) is it worth sparks a step colder and upgraded coils right off the bat? will a MHD flash cover this until I get an upgraded intercooler and DP's? or should I collect parts and do it all at once?

Eldor coils for sure! Even though i have Delphi's and there been great on stage 2+ running Bosch OE ZGR6STE2 spark plugs

This is just an update to show everyone what not to do when replacing your trim.

I managed to get all the trim off the car without breaking any clips or scratching the paint, but! when replacing the trim there is an angled piece of rubber which must sit underneath the seal on the door frame above the side mirror.

pic 1. wrong! It must be tucked in under the seal!
pic 2. right.

I know this may seem logical to most but I didn't realise and when I washed my car I noticed the carpet was damp in the footwell under where the side mirror meets the window. Water inside = bad.

It didn't take me long to work out that it must have been something I did when wrapping the trim. Bloody turkey.

Anyway it's all fixed now, hope this helps anyone who is planning to remove their window trim.
