M57 diesel leak after injector replacement

Hi forum,
Recently picked up a deleted M57 for my dad which had an electrical failure of injector #6 a few weeks ago. Pulled it using a homemade slide hammer and installed a brand new Bosch injector. He noticed it was getting smokier and smokier with white unburned diesel vapor. I popped the hood last night and saw that diesel fuel was bubbling from the rear side of injector #6 (see video). I went ahead and pulled the manifold and injector again and saw it was completely fouled with carbon along with the bore. I cleaned the injector body and the bore the best I could with a toothbrush and carb cleaner and replaced the crush washer. Reinstalled it and saw it was bubbling again, although a little less. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?

Both those links are the same.

Looks to me like you could do with *gently* reaming the seat - you don't want to remove metal, but you do need to scrape out all the carbon.

You can pick up a set of reamers cheap. See here @19min:

Is that all diesel on top of the valve cover?? I think you need to replace the o-ring on the leak off pipe, where it connects to the injector. Use only a genuine part. And make sure the clip is fully seated when you reinstall.
