Ecotuned 335d
I have a 2011 335d.......full delete iincluding race pipe. It was done several years ago by redline speedworx out of new jersey which got their tunes from the ecotune guys out of Scotland. Car runs fine....no access to a dyno to see actual numbers. My question is, how much of a performance jump could i expect to see if i went with a say BPC 2+ or 3 or a JR 2.8 race? And while im asking questions is Methanol "required" with BPC 3 or just recomended? I was thinking about an IC upgrade and an ATM intake and maybe some scoops, but would do a retune if that made more sense. Open to suggestions. And why did it take me so long to find this site?

According to BPC running a stage 3 without meth wont hurt anything but you just won’t be running at max power and maybe see more smoke than usual.

@Inx.....i wish i knew numbers, would make the decision so much easier. I reached out to both redlinevand ecotune to attempt to get some useful info, but they couldnt really give a difinitive answer and could only guess. I think they said 300 hp and 500 tq which at those numbers it would be worth the upgrade i think. Just tnought id mention it here to maybe see if anyone had one done through ecotune to get a real answer.

I would run not walk away from redline speed worx. That company used to do tunes with Ecotune of Scotland but they severed ties. I was one of the first 10 that used their wares. I transitioned to JR products and haven't looked back. I believe the numbers u were quoting are at the crank. Pls be careful when comparing tunes to be consistent. Most at this forum communicate "at the wheels" numbers.

I've read all about the magic red scoops..... Its been seriously hard to decide between the JR 2.8 and the BPC 3. SEEMS to be more value with higher numbers with the BPC, but JR is only 1.5 hours away so I could take the car there. IDK prob get the ATM intake first then do the tune in a few weeks.

I personally would lean on proximity, no one complains about either outfit. I have a rentech tune but will go bpc, just waiting for CBU to show up to do it all at once or some more funds.... just my 2 cents because you are splitting hairs on product I feel like.

JR Tunes are great!
I've ran JR 2 for the last 20k miles with zero issues and plan to run 2.8 soon from the feedback

Guess the retune is coming sooner rather than later...lol. |

Sooner, this is why your urea tank tries to continue to go lower. Did you say your tank was removed or the SCR was "tuned out"? Stan/Ecotune argued with us that the SCR was not spraying. It was eventually proven (Yozh) but he lost several of us as customers. Stan was at disadvantage to not be testing his tune on North American cars. Lesson learned by all. |

Unfortunately, we had also an intermediary Redline Speedworkx in NJ that potentially would contribute to all the above issues and was not responsive. That sealed the deal for most of us to switch to JR and never look back.

Any other outfits that do tunes......I'm kinda worried that I'm about to spend 1200+ bucks just to get the SCR tuned out and not see much of a performance increase. It wouldn't be that big of an issue but just had a msport bumper put on without the circular access panel to add DEF. Now I'm in a bit of a jam lol. Don't want remove the bumper just to add the DEF.
