Seattlesquash when you upped the boost, were you advised of the potential necessity for adding a BOV to mitigate the excess of boost at idle? Or was your pulley downsize not putting you at risk for that to be an issue? Was getting with Bob to discuss a way to get to where you are, power wise, while running e85. I know my power output will be less, but I want to implement a pulley that will garner comparable results while using good ol' corn j00s. Ya feel meh? I was thinking a 3.4" since you are at a ~3.7", but I just want to get some real world experience from your end while I am getting info from the big bois.

Are tighter gapped plugs required for the amount of boost you’re running ?

I believe shop recommended it, so I think I am on reduced gap w new plugs at 0.24-0.25.

Noir,
MrSquash,

What’s your current Intake manifold set up in regards to being boosted. Are you guys running catch cans or venting to atmosphere?
I know the n54 manifold was designed for boost, but at a low psi would the difference be noticeable compared to the stock single stage manifold.
I might be preparing to take another run with the turbo install..

I am still on the factory 3IM configuration — I am about to go and buy applicable parts for the swap to the n54. If I'm not mistaken, minutes2midnight is running the manifold — I think he is running a couple more pounds of boost than I am. He may be better equipped to answering your question. ;-;

I run 3 stage intake manifold, and standard throttle body. Likely not a huge difference w 3 stage or regular once boosted but had it on already... runs like a dream! No catch can and zero oil burn/blow by... if any small enough not to show up over 5k. To be safe I set vacuum read for boost ok at read at throttle body/top before intake to avoid any oil/if any.

Whatever you do, you have to modify stock ESS setup... so much left on table and I could never go back to their setup now. Meth or build a inter cooler setup and crank up boost FTW, and custom dyno tune!

Thanks guys,
I totally forgot that the ESS kit comes with a line from the PCV to the intake tube after the maf.
I’m hopeful with a smaller turbo and a few manifold adjustments I should be able to build a proper intake tube, and run the PCV line into that just like on your guys set up.

I am FINALLY getting somewhere with everything, bro. Been waiting to get s'more meat on the rear end (square setup, incoming) — been waiting on Koni to get stuff to TC Kline, but I am FINALLY getting my rear set of double adjustable rears. Crazy. Can finally do the complete suspension overhaul this 15 year old car needs. Then do power things. Need to determine what is "too much" boost before I jump on a BOV :,)

If any of you guys need an ESS intake hose I got one on eBay, did not sell for $1 plus shipping so a good deal if you need one!

Cheers,

Cheers,
Did some exhaust mods, a bit too loud, switching to 18" MF from 14" but flows way better and was restrictive w stock bend, currently on an offset 3" in/out

Installing some vibrant inline resonators, to tone it down a bit with upgraded y pipe to the new 3" section… feedback will follow 1790 or 1792 model, and keeping rear setup as is. Primary cats in place and AA headers. Definitely re tuning after as really opened it up now

Progress. Opted to stay with the OEM TB as it was just easier to keep with the OEM connector/harness — I won't feel bad for the (IIRC) 3mm difference for the internal diameter. Next on the list is my alternator & smaller pulley for the blower. Hopefully can make more progress this weekend.

Major shout out to Biginboca for essentially taking me on his ride when he first did alterations to the intake. My dude did an extra just for me MONTHS ago. How do I ask him out? UwU

Get it gurlllll. I wonder what kind of juicy gains you’ll get with the N54 manifold. Do you know what bobs latest tune will rev out too?

Not to flex or anything, but Biginboca actually added me on Instagram today. No big deal or anything though.

I think the last time I had him fiddle with mine he set it to rev to 72 or 7250 — I could be very wrong

But that 3 stage resonance made it poop out at 6800 and up :,(

Wow! If we could all be so fortunate

Does anyone have a photo of which wire needs to be snipped to disconnect brake signal to DME.

In order to allow throttle+brake simultaneously on MSV70 running alpha-N. I had info saved but can't find it now. Going to be running alpha-N on my turbo build

Negatory.. I'm still experiencing that issue with my alpha n config… Was hoping to rectify this through the next round of tuning after I get everything else implemented

I can try to ask around come Monday :,)
