E90 330i front bumper m3 swap
Im planning on getting a new bumper for my 06 330i. I want the m3 bumper. Do you think i should get a bumper in good comdition and then paint it ? Or these a “good” chance i can find one in black sapphire metallic ?

Don't get that bumper man, just don't....
If anything, get the M-Sport one or the BMW Performance one(if you can actually find it anywhere). Seriously though, people will laugh at you with the M3 replica bumper on a N52 car.

An MSport bumper is classic, an M3 replica should go with fenders, side skirts and rear bumper or it just looks like a fake M3.

It still will look like a fake M3 with all that though. M-Sport looks better, not gaudy, and people don't point and laugh at you. Kind of a no brainer.

Yes and if you’re going to drive a fake M3, you may as well do it right.

Better yet, leave the (fine looking) OEM 330i bumper in place and spend the $ on some M3 suspension goodies.

Ive seen ppl put m2 n m4 bumpers on their non M e90 plenty of times. Lmaoo i aint claiming an M car tho. My 330i badge and 2 exhaust tips will remain there proudly and shiny. Maybe if i removed the 330i badge and covered the car in M badges lol

I thought you were going for an e90-style M3 bumper. The F-series-style bumpers on e9x look atrocious. I have the opposite version of a fake m3. It has all the suspension, brake, and structural parts and none of the visual ones. Apologies for the sideways pic

Man you guys are missing the point here, an M3 front bumper is GUARANTEED to give him like +100HP thats the real reason he wants it.

330i has only 84 fewer horsepower than M3 it’s basically the same car. You should do it but make sure you post lots of pics.

Biginboca has done this swap and posted a lot of pics and details in his build thread if you're curious about what's involved.

Do whatever makes you happy, but definitely M3-rep and not actual M3, due to reasons mentioned above. I have an M3-rep front bumper and M-tech rear bumper on my 335i because I like they way they look. I also had to replace the bumpers anyway (running over a semi tire on the interstate = no bueno), so that helped provide some impetus.

IMO it's your car, do whatever you want...
Personally I like the m-sport over the M3 front in general, but that has nothing to do with driving a fake M3; just personal preference. Side note, I have neither nor do I plan on it. |
