Nope. I've had my 328 for 10 months with ZERO issues. It's a fantastic daily driver and great in the snow with snow tires (2wd). I'm averaging 25-26 mpg in the city on REGULAR gas and my insurance is less than my 2004 Pathfinder. What's there to regret. The extra horsepower? Not really. I'd realistically use it 2% of the time. If I had to do it again, it would be exactly the same.

I loved my 328 until I found this web site called E90Post.com. LOL. But I got over the 335 bug and now I'm in love with my 328 again. More than 1 year later and I still try to find an excuse just to drive my car.

I love my 328. When I feel like smoking tires, I jump in my Mustang. Different cars serve different purposes.

I'm in love with my 328i. Plenty of power for me since I come from owning a 2000 Honda Civic Si with the super peaky, no-torque, 8000rpm screaming 4-banger. When I test drove the 328i it felt like a rocket compared to the Honda. I still can't get over how I can go from 55 to 75mph on the highway without downshifting. Flat torque bands FTW!
I also prefer my 328i in the snow w/ snow tires vs. my fwd Civic with snows, I find it so much more predictable and its behavior seems to "make sense" when in slippery conditions. |

I'm sure some 328 owners wish they purchased the 335, but the vast majority bought the right car for them.
There are too many 335 owners that think 328 owners made a mistake. Should the M3 owners do the same thing to the 335 owners? How about M5 and M6 owners? Let's get some perspective. Even though the 328 is the lowest level BMW in the U.S., when you compare it against all the cars on the market < $50K, it's probably in the 90% or 95% percentile. In Europe, BMW starts out with a 143 hp 318 that does 0-60 in about 9 seconds (closer to 10 seconds with step). Every car has its pros and cons. The 335 cost more, is 200 pounds heavier, will probably have more problems (especially in the long term) and it costs more to insure. Plus many of us don't need or want 18" tires (with ZSP). I have no doubt that the 335 is the best car for most of the readers of this forum. I also have no doubt that most 328 owners bought the right car for them. |

Honestly? No. I'm in the US. Their are cops, and places that are photo enforced. I won't use the 300 horses. I'd just be paying extra money for a car that I wouldn't be able to use. Another thing, I'm 18. I want something that's comfortable and sporty. I can't afford a 50k car. The 4 door looks ugly, so that wasn't even a choice. I bought my 328xi coupe a week ago. I test drove the 335xi sedan and yeah it had a nice pick-up, but I was knocked to my senses when I saw a 335 on the side of the road with a cop behind him with his lights on that same night.
This is my first car and it's a BMW. It's much more then what I was expecting. The car I was looking at was an Audi. In conclusion, No. I LOVE my 328xi. You don't start from the top. You work your way up. My car is a 3 year lease. When I'm 21 I'll think about either another BMW or an Audi. Until then. I'm loving the Corona's. |

Those LED door handles are hot. But I think the coupe looks "sportier" if you will. |

well i had my heart set out on the 335 simply because it was a 335 and not a 328 (stupid i know). anyway i settled on the 328 because the dealer already had the car with all the options that i wanted. i know i know i got carried away lol but the 328 was staring at me right in the face and i couldn't resist.
now coming from a toyota rav4 i got used to driving granny style and i don't really care about racing so the 335 would have just been a waste for me. it's almost as bad as lindsey lohan and her sl65, except that i don't have to run away from the paparazzi and umm.. the fact that i can't afford an sl65... and that i'm not lindsey lohan. besides the 328 is still pretty peppy and handles great i really can't complain. <--- my expression while driving the 328 |

i think the 328 is good for 95% of my driving, becuz i live in a crowded area with traffic, low speed limits and speeding cameras, (DC) so while the extra HP would be nice, i personally would never find a need to justify the extra cost/insruance

yes i regret not getting the 335... BUT i'm okay with the 328... i can't be trusted with too much torque and horses... i know this for a fact, i had 3 points on my license that JUST fell off... i think if i went with the 335, i'd have gotten more points, suspended license, etc etc... i can't be trusted with speed... hell, i'm getting about 14mpg in my 328, lol...

I definitely wish I had a 335i but honestly I'm 17 and my dad bought me the car because I wanted it so I'm not complaining.
And regarding the argument a few posts up, I got an E90 because my E36 was a coupe and I always have friends riding with me so that got annoying but I definitely like the styling of the E92 more than my car, I think the back of the E90 is pretty ugly but it's pretty nice from any other angle. |
