N55 o2 sensor DIY?

I have been searching around for an o2 sensor DIY, but haven't found anything good. Has anyone replaced their o2 sensors on their car? Is it possible to do without dropping the cat and removing the v-band, or are these necessary steps? Just trying to find out if it'd be the right time to upgrade my DP

Which one? You can remove the primary from the top very easy. Will have the get under for the post-cat sensor.

Both. The top is the most concerning since it affects engine operation. That's really good to know it's easy from the top!

Just make sure to buy an O2 sensor socket. Otherwise it is a PITA.

Yeah, the first one is (relatively) easy. Pull out the windshield washer fill tube to get enough room and then use a regular L shaped O2 socket on a swivel extension. Unfortunately the wire is clipped to the back of the engine and it takes some pretty clever fingers to figure out how to unclip it, and most of all, how to re-clip the replacement.

The second one should only be needed if you aren't passing smog.
