Charge pipe/diverter leak
I’m keep getting fuel mixture codes 29E0 and 29E1 so I have been doing some vacuum test. I put the white smoke nozzle in the manifold where the map sensor normally goes. This is what happened. Is air supposed to be escaping near the grey clip?

My wife's car was throwing occasional 30FFs and had the same leak. Installed an aftermarket charge pipe, 30FFs gone.
However, since the N54 does not have a MAF sensor, I would not expect that leak to cause fuel mixture problems. |

The stock system, especially near the DV leaves much room for improvement. It's plastic, it's brittle and isn't a perfect system even stock. If it bothers you, you can upgrade the charge pipe and switch to BOV. The leak probably isn't enough to really drop performance substantially though and it's probably unrelated to your other codes.
The codes you have are fuel related. Whether it's fuel trims, fuel pump, injectors or 02 sensors, you'll probably have to wait for further issues. |
