Do S65 fuel injectors work in the N52?

Short version...

I read a post from someone once that they installed s65 fuel injector and it worked fine with no coding, but in searching I can’t seem to find the post again. Does anyone know?

The long version of my question is...

I’ve been getting a misfire in cylinder 3 code about once a month for the last 3 months. Engine definitely running on 5 cylinders when it happens, very rough and SES light comes on. It clears up after 2-3 miles and goes away for a month.

Already changed plugs and coils. Can’t think of what else it could be besides an injector at this point. If I’m going to change injectors anyway might as well upgrade/prep for the future, so was wondering if the s65 is truly a simple bolt in.

They work if you're boosted and you have a matching tune. It's definitely not going to work without programing - this isn't something you can do with "coding".

How confident are you in that? I found the thread I was looking for here:

This is the quote from it:

I think he's full of it. Maxing out the fuel trims is not what I would call pefrect..

Ok thanks. What do you think of this statement he made when told it needed tuning by TM?

I don’t need s65 injectors obviously but I can get some low miles take offs really cheap and have 2 spares in case I ever have more issues. And if I ever decide to go FI, ethanol, or some other new power mod comes along I would already be prepared so it’s somewhat attractive to install them instead of another set of n52 ones.

I’m with hass on this one, I don’t think hitting targets = working perfect, but who am I to say that.

definitely will work...
but NEEDs tune.

They match spray pattern which is good.
But I don't trust that guys experience... that's weird imo.

I am going to have these installed to run full e85.
Bob is gonna tune the car for them, of course..

I'm sure it wont be too costly to get a retune from them if you already have a tune purchased from them in the past.

I already spoke with Bob and he said he can definitely upgrade my tune for them. I’m just going to go through my misfire issue one more time check connections, coil, plug. If I still have issue and need to replace injectors then I’ll do the s65 for replacements so I can do FI or ethanol if I ever decide to.

Can we bump this and make sure this will work?
I’m really thinking of doing this on my n52 NA with all the full bolt on and 3IM. Will this really work as a daily with the existing tune?

For the record... I never installed the s65 injectors because not long after I started this thread is when it came to light the N54 manifold I was running didn’t mate to the head properly. My issues were being caused by air leaks around the intake runners.

No.

What will you aim to gain by adding fuel?

It’ll probably work with some tuning adjustments, but what’s your end goal? An N52 even with full bolt ons won’t max out the stock injectors.

Stock injectors are good enough... Is this still the general consensus?

I'm hoping to achieve full bolt on status, and wanted to confirm that fuel won't be a limiting factor.

Not sure if it has been answered but I’m running s65 injectors to be able to run e85 on my n52.

Okay, I will proceed on the basis that OEM injectors are fine, unless running E85 or boost.
Thanks
