Word. I bought new screws for it today. Self tappers with a much bigger thread. Stock ones make me cry sometimes

Got the P0128 t-stat code on Friday. Checked the coolant and cleared the code, it hasnt come back yet. I only have 78K miles but I think Im going to do the t-stat, water pump, and coolant flush/change in the next couple weeks.

Got my new winter tires delivered today. Now I just need to get them mounted on the winter rims and on the car before the freezing temperatures hit.

I'm also eager to test the new LED light bar. It's a tad too wide to fit properly (15mm smaller would have made all the difference) but it doesn't look that bad. And with an output of 7000 lumens I should double the light output on high beams.

I did similar, except I found a smoking deal on some near new blizzaks.

They are however on the world's ugliest motegi racing wheels.

I have already bought dark silver metallic paint to at least make them look like an ugly factory wheel. I don't want anyone thinking I actually picked these things out.

They're full 4x4 and probably the largest tire you're going to fit on a 3 series.
225/55R17

but they'll do nicely for that extra half inch of ground clearance during the winter, and the wheel offset put them right in the factory spot under the fenders so it won't cover the whole side of the car in salt like my 18x8s did.

I handed dude $400 for the whole set after I measured out tire tread at 10/32. Good enough for me at that price.

Applied some felt tape behind the cluster in an effort to make it stop squeaking in cold weather, hopefully I put it in the right spot

Those tires look sweet. Amazing I have ultragrips too but studless. I don't think they're very common out here. If I'm not mistaken mine are made in Germany as I got them in 2008 (sorry I don't worry about the 6 year rule lol)

That is a good deal though! Could always paint them or swap them out for some cheap oem wheels and sell those.

repainted monochrome, OEM-like grey, will hide a bit the fake screws and will look decent.

wash/ sand/ dewax / primer / rosteolium paint / spray-max 2k clear glamour.

easy job, cheap, and if you're skilled, this will look like powder coat.

I bought dark metallic silver paint last night.

I may attempt to pop all the fake bolt heads off before I paint them.

I'd say I will fill the holes left, but that's a lie and I'm not that ambitious.

surprisingly those wheels are still available.
They're $120 a pop on amazon.
Tires are $180 on tirerack.

Bridgestone says 10.5/32nds is brand new, these show 10.
for the money I'm into these, I'll deal.

This is going to sound strange, but would it be "safe" to run winter wheels with cupping? My neighbor gave em to me and I've been debating if I should get rid of them or use them.

are they gonna ride terrible and be noisy? absolutely.

Maybe if I take them on the highway I can wear them till they're even

Not too concerned about a shitty ride, more concerned about any traction loss and or excessive wear on mechanical parts (xdrive)

Since we are all posting snow tires... I also scored an incredible deal. I have been wanting to pull my 230 wheels and go with a 18" wheel. I did not find a set of 513M wheels yet but I was able to score a set of 640M wheels with very lightly used Conti Winter Contacts for $850. I am very happy and can't wait to get back home to install them.

This will have to do for now.

Since we're talking about new wheels now.. What do you guys think about these for winter beaters? Seller is asking 250 for the set. Supposedly brand new and didn't fit his jeep.
Originally $110 a rim

My cluster is driving me crazy with its noises. It was creaking before--fixed that, and now it's buzzing.

Internal buzzing that almost sounds like you're touching a hot and ground wire together?
